To make my Canadian girlfriend feel more at home (and also to finally get a giant meal down me instead of just eatinv eggs and fish), she and I and a couple of friends got together for a Thanksgiving dinner. We had an enormous amount of food which basically covered all the familiar ingredients of a big sunday lunch and threw in some scones and some macaroni cheese. Was incredibly good fun. Can see us getting together again around Christmas or something. Smiley

PLO night tonight at dusk. Time to demonstrate my terrible fundamentals and still whinge when I don't show a profit. Legooooo.

Sorry it's been quiet in here over the last week.

First of all, thanks for all the congratulations for my small bink in the £150; and sorry to Alex from whom I stole the limelight for ten, maybe twenty minutes in between trophies.

Sunday was a really frustrating day online. Normally I bust a ton of stuff in the early/mid stages and run deep in one or two, even if it's just for a bowl. This week I had something like 15 tables open at once at rush hour and bricked everything. Mincashed the bigger $22 and the bigger $55 for some consolation. This hand cheered me right up though:

A few of us finally got a kickabout together on Monday, on this 7-a-side pitch. Pretty sick cage actually, loads of fun even though I sucked. It was wet and slippery, so plenty of bails for entertainment. Our team got killed 'cause they had stato in goal and nothing gets past him. Hope this will be a regular thing, and fingers crossed I'll be able to walk after any future sessions. dont river me

Tuesday I got the new Pokemon game for DS, so obviously had to take another night off. Wink Wednesday I set off to London for a weekend of shopping, with no budget, wanted to come back with sweats, hoodies, polos and jumpers. Walked into Abercrombie, where I was a little worried I might spend my net wealth, and walked out with some boxers. And that was about all I came back with, other than some starfruit from Harrod's. The main event though, was going to see Portico Quartet at the Roundhouse. Very difficult to describe their style, and their recordings simply don't do justice to their incredible live performances.

Heading to the gym in a moment, and might flick it in for the £150 at Dusk later. I feel like winning another tournament so I can take another week off.

Roundhose is an amazing venue. Been to watch bands at that venue loads of times
sound is always good and its really easy to get a drink.

Good job you didnt go shopping just down the road in Camden you may have ended up buying
something the locals would wear and looking a right plonker.

Time for another Sunday then. Next door's cockerel woke me up after a small amount of sleep so I imagine I'll drift off around the bubble of the biggest comp I'm playing today. Got a decent schedule, will be grinding with the boys with all the trophies - and Tom High - and watching Mitch on the big screen (because he won't fit on a small one.)

Weeeee, let's lose five all-ins in five minutes when five tabling by 5pm and snap unreg the rest of the sesh, head to Dusk to win a bowl or do my nuts in a cash game go.

Never made it to Dusk. Did unreg a load of stuff though, was not feeling particularly zen! Was very close to a tantrum  in fact. I had just finished a giant moan about how they keep calling me off with the J9 and getting there; then I cooled off, 3bet jammed 16bb on the button in the bigger $22 and the OR snap calls with J9 and wins. The laptop lid was insta-slammed, couldn't quite muster the angst to launch it 'cause I only play bowls anyway, walked down the corrider and realised I looked a lot like Phil Hellmuth.

Honey, he called me with a jack and a nine.

Funnnnnndayyyyyyyyyyy.

Going to kick a bag of a wind around tonight and see if I can't blow off some sunday steam.
