I dd take a couple of buyins away from that table. It was like Alex said, it's hard to leave when the banter is so incredibly lively, the poker's fun which it rarely seems to be these days, and there's potential for multiway diary merging the next morning; but business is business - it's not always a pleasure trip. Moved off this table onto a 1/1 where everyone was sat £400+ deep so could only assume it was splashy with plenty of action. It broke within an orbit though, and a 1/1 round of each developed. We won in this game, too, I think without showdown as well - not bad considering I piled for pot with the absolute world on the flop leaving villain about £15 behind in a £100+ pot where we bricked on the turn and he somehow folded.
Moved to a super juicy 1/1 after this game broke and that's when ALL the wheels came off! We bet all streets against a maniac with TT on a 9 5 3 7 5 board. He's the kind of villain that will pay off three streets with Q7, but that does mean of course that he might this time show up with the T5, blergh. Had a very rare spot against the same villain where I think it was profitable to semi-bluff. He and I play a lot together and I don't normally ever try to bluff him for obvious reasons, but there are certain textures where I think he gives some players, me in particular at least, a fair amount of credit. He tanked for a while and called it off with a better pair and a worse flush draw and held. Lost a flip with JJ against AQ which was super standard, just a little bit annoying on the night. Same with the last hand I played:
Raised up in MP for £6, I called in the big blind with 66 and we went five ways to

, we donk led for £18 which might not be great but I'm convinced there's enough merit to thinning the field and repping a big hand later if needs be, plus we are very likely to have the best hand on paper and take it down here. The villain in the hand looked like he was raising and then just called, so he's convinced me he has a tenball and to scratch the last sentence of the my thought process, I'm now just giving up on non-club and non-six turns. The turn was, however, the

. We went ahead and bet big, like £49 I think. He comes in with a raise to £115 and I'm playing another £150 behind so I jam and he calls very quickly. The 3 pairs the board on the river, and hard as I might try, the words "so sick" escaped my gasping face as he tables the QT. Pretty tough evening where not much went right, but left the club feeling far less morose than I would have done last month, which is a psychological win I guess.

Going to my friend's house now for dinner which she's been excited about preparing for a long time. I understand Alex is also having a crack at dinner, so diaries might look like they're merging here, but they're really not!
