think pre-flop is well played tbh. I Don't know the stack depths but assuming 100bb+ I think the default play should be the flat AK here, as soon as I have a hint of a dynamic where light 4bet's are possible I'd be starting to 3bet here.

Obviously 3betting a premium hand even OOP readless is always going to be fine I just prefer calling. Turn is close, fold would be ok IMO but can't hate on calling spesh as John's very likely to bet again on our pair cards.

Also - I dont think JB was being patronising to Sean at all, the OOP to a superior player comment was so obviously a joke, yes JB's a bit of a ego-monkey but he'd never say anything deliberately rude/be a prick (he's a nice chap!)

Think stato was being a bit grumpy that night... Had only won 98.76% of his flips, the poor lad.

Thought it was obvious bants myself.

This is a side of his character he kept well hidden in the PokerNews article.  I'm rethinking my opinion on him now.  Bit grumpy - sounds like this could be the first reveal.  What next?  Occasionally irritable?  Infrequently annoyed?

It's clearly a mistake of mine to not 'assume' that flatting AK there would actually an active part of Sean's game.  I think at the time I just assumed that AK would be 3bt a very high % and that although I 'hoped' he would call me down with AK high (as he did) I was just surprised when I saw it like that.

The whole rhetoric after the hand was for the benefit of the 'table' and the banter involved clearly.  I (for the record) do not see Sean as an inferior player and in fact this is the first time we've spent more than a few minutes at a table together.

It was a shame to (eventually) lose money in the game as I was winning a little for most of it, unfortunately I ran into TL900 on the day he finally decided to hit every single flop out of the park and to find every 'nut' card on each turn... and with him on his A-game and running well, it was sadly not to be.

(its a shame that people actually thought I was that much of a **** [insert your current favorite suitable word - extend the * if needbe] that this would have all been done in real malice or something - hopefully I am able to charm you all in person eventually..... [if you're a girl it helps me in the long run {context - better with girls, nothing 'naughty'}])

While the 4-page discussion of the most standard hand ever continues Wink I've been trying to find a new place to live. Beth and I finally decided it was a good time to truly immerse ourselves in eachother's bad habits, so this week while she's off galavanting round sunny Canada, I'll be viewing as many houses as Alex Goulder does in a 6 hour session.

Looked at a bungalow yesterday. It had the oldest shower I've ever seen; it looked like those ancient telephones, and the way the plumbing was done meant that most of the time in the bathroom would be used trying to balance the hot and cold taps. Modern and luxury, my eye. The whole place was trimmed with pearls and frilly edges. It's the kind of place my great aunt might like, but not for me. I need a house where I can spill my protein shake all over the carpet and not feel like I've tarnished a remarkable piece of history.

Onward.

Playing the £111 monte carlo satellite. Average chips, 1 in 5 get a seat, did have an amazing table until everyone's nemesis Nick Hicks sat down but I hope we'll manage to stay out of eachother's way at least until the table breaks. Got a good feeling about this one.
