dont play on ongame cos other blondes play on it. play on some network full of fish! like the dtd site yeh! if u can take the software that is.

stay away from ongame Tongue

mike's right about downswings. how you deal with them and pull through is the ultimate test.

money not lost can be spent just as easily as money won Smiley

Remained in unusually and unexpectedly good spirits for the most part of last night, even when I was doing chunks. Was obviously feeling a little pale after a couple of those hands, but when all said and done I feel like six months ago the raging beast within me would have caused last night to be a bit of a bankroll disaster but as it was I managed to keep my head in the game and continued to play pretty well. Confident in saying that anybody would have gone broke in those hands, so chalking it up to some bad luck.

Appreciate the feedback though. Probably will have to get serious about playing online in 2012. Remember reading an article in Bluff once about dealing with downswings etc and part of the author's graph was a 100k hand breakeven streak. He said this was the toughest 6 weeks of his career. Imagine having that sort of streak live... 6 years maybe?

As much as I like to keep the juicy games to my self I thought I might try giving the advice thing a go. Can you remember how life at Gala use to be? It's a pretty ridic easy, you just have to get over the fact that it's a hole and filled with a lot of horrible people. Perhaps putting in a couple of sessions there and supplementing your large downswing by making a few top pair hands and value towning the drunks will make things pick up in terms of profit and confidence. I know you've waited a while to play at DTD but to be honest the 50/1 games there aren't exactly great games because the people playing them are often pretty nitty and are there primarily to play poker as appose to casino games where there are more people on a night out looking for a gamble.

When you are filled with confidence and on the top of your game I'm sure the 50/1 game at DTD is a walk in the park because it's pretty easy to walk over the table because most players are very nitty, so you'll be picking up the majority of pots uncontested and making a solid hourly rate without much risk. Whilst you're going through a bit of a bad patch, walking over the table can become quite challenging because we think we are running bad but we are also making decisions we wouldn't normally be doing because of the way we are currently running. It becomes extremely frustrating trying to recouperate earlier losses from nitty opponents so maybe just have a dabble in the fish filled games for a little while, book some decent wins, boost your roll and get your confidence back. Fed up of seeing you depressed!

"Had an utterly disgusting night tonight. About four orbits in, I'm winning £50, I've got a great table and I'm feeling confident. We look down at the   in a limped pot and check from the big blind. Unfortunately we don't really improve and we still have ten high on the flop on   . I stone cold bluff £4 into £6 and two players make the correct call. They then both get incredibly unlucky as I somehow hit the  on the turn. I make it £15, villain #1 calls and the drunk businessman from Switzerland quickly makes it £35. Yum yum. I make quite a performance before making the 3bet to £85. Villain #1 folds, Swisstard instaships, I make the instacall. Before the words "good call" can completely leave his mouth, the  hits the river and he slaps the   onto the felt"

Love the blog - really enjoy the write ups.   However - does anyone think poor old Swisstard didn't do a lot wrong here (albeit got lucky)?  Or am I brother of Swisstard as I'd have done the same thing  Smiley

Merry Christmas and please keep the blog going in the new year as it's a cracker.

PJ will you have a day off please! If you carry on with this type of behaviour then these 'fish filled games' will no longer be that instead it will be a DTD nitty game but in a shithole that is gala! Unless you are here trying to attract more fish in Sean seeing as he 'is so fucking bad' LOL we love you really Sean!

Surely at the levels you're currently playing you would be better off playing online. x amount of tables at once, soooo many more hands an hour to iron out the varience, and RB.
Plenty of soft MTTs online that could get you a couple of small binks towards your bankroll targets

Obviously the hand was sort of a cooler... His Casino Royale esque conduct post hand was what earned him the elusive title.

You're absolutely right. Going to start playing online again in the new year. Plan is to play 4 tables at 25/50c to begin with I think so will have $400 on the table, same as what I'm playing live at the moment. Maybe some sickos can suggest some decent MTTs to play and any thoughts on my very basic outline.
