Find any more money today?
No, but I did fade the online grind, and it makes sense that not losing is the same as finding. I had a boring quarrel with someone shortly before I planned to leave for Chestnut Ave (no, Alex, this has nothing to do with your choice of milkshake.) I was a little bit tilted by the whole scenario, I felt like 10 hours in front of a laptop sweating some mincashes was not the ideal way to spend the day. I took the fury in my veins and went to the gym where I set a new personal best on the flat bench press.
When I was all fury-ed out, I took my quivering body to Dusk and won £250, mostly from the guy that flatted nines full against me the other night. I asked him why he just called and he said, "because you looked happy as fuck." I'm sorry, Paul Zimbler, body language extraordinaire, define happy for me. I don't think I've ever looked happy a moment in my life. Made a few quips like "maybe I can get you to fold aces full" when bluffing a river. I then proceeded to get three streets three times versus him. Guess I managed to curb my happiness.
Good day all round, but still a little bit annoyed I didn't get myself back into the online game this weekend. Oh well, that's what February is for.
Winning & finding plenty for January now. Probably just shy of what I'd earn if I had a real job, but with twice the morale, which I'm going to estimate is at 88%.

Yes, I always find your happy-go-lucky demeanour slightly off-putting at the table when you're betting. The delight on your face, dare I say permeating through your entire being, makes me think you've hit a straight flush yet again, and that I should fold whilst appreciating the opportunity of even being able to be a mere onlooker at such a joyous time for you.

Today had all the qualities required for a great day. First of all, monday is legs day on my gym schedule but I was so physically exhausted this morning that I faded it. Went to Matt and Nick's to playing some open face chinese poker instead. That was followed by sushi with Beth. Which was followed by a winning session at Gala. Wonderful!
Here's the downside though. Most of my winnings tonight came from Matt and Nick. Got 77 > 44 on 7 6 5 versus Matt, then A9 on a 9 high board versus what I guess was a worse 9 for the rest. Opened A3 and flopped a wheel versus Nick and got three streets. Took the rest from Nick on
with the
against his
. Instant service on the turn.
Friends' money is normally sweeter than just some random's, it's good for banter, it's good for a bit of needle. At the moment though it seems like everyone is knocking it in, and the sensation of scooping your mates chips in is no longer one of smug satisfaction. I seem to be on a bit of a heater at the moment, but it's a cold and lonely heater.

How did you find open face? Game today?
Know how you feel btw, some people's money really isn't sweet.
Great to see the diary back on track and regular updates coming in.

Yup on board for posts from now on, been only in and out of it so far.
Friends money I find is only good if you are both still winning on the night or if that said friend has been on a huge upswing generally.
Definitely sometimes have to hold back the nervous laugh when you felt a mate who is running bad, not out of enjoyment of your friends pain, but the absurdity of how harshly he has been running. If you hear him mutter obscenities under his breath then I normally am just laughing generally.

Yeh friends who are downswinging/under it, it's just really unpleasant. Quite a few of my close friends, their money used to be so sweet, but now it's really not.

That could also be a time thing though. After playing so many years with mates in the cash games the banter could fall by the wayside eventually, as you all are worn out by the swings and just feel a little sensitive about it all.
I think if you are lucky enough to bink a seat with a mate in most tournaments though, different story altogether, and the banter can hold no bounds and its all taken lightheartedly. Well imo anyway.

Sean let me know how you want paying for the 10%. Options are cash at the club or chips at the club or bank transfer from my personal banker ( Ed,he does all that electronic banking stuff).

Sean, am I the only one of your close dealer friends that's winning vs you lifetime?
You should change your username to "AK" as an expression of your dominance.
You put a hole in my 6 match heads up winning streak. I used to play in the comps on my days off when I worked at Dusk, and I'd always go whinging to James the TD that I could crush every one of these players heads up, but I couldn't beat more than one hand at a time because I wasn't lucky enough. I don't know where that level of arrogance and ignorance came from, but he insisted that I put my money where my mouth was. He picked up the microphone and offered my challenge over the PA. I said name your price up to £200, name your game either PLO or holdem, as long as we start with 300bb and had a slow clock.
My first challenger was some horrible weak passive nit who frequented the 5/5 Dealer's game back then. Unsurprisingly, don't see much of him these days. He said he wanted to play PLO for £500. I insisted that we only play for £200 as the full £500 was too much of my monthly earnings. To date, this is one of my biggest regrets. I don't think I lost a hand, he was literally the worst player I've ever played against. I proceeded to beat another five opponents on a strict rule that I would only play one per night. The jewel in my crown was lucksacking a victory against Andrew "stato_1" Hulme. I even agreed to rematch him in heads up cash on Full Tilt and lucksacked him some more.
Jamie Kay wanted a slice, but I insisted we didn't play for much because it would have been pretty awkward between close friends, we played for £50 and we had Andy Creasey as our dealer. I got tanked. I mean absolutely crushed. He would whip over AK four out of five hands, and the whole thing was over by level 2.
We've played some pretty retarded coolers over the years, all at Gala if I remember correctly. And I crushed your soul a little with backdoor one pair at Alea. You won't be up by much mate! Heads up later?

Sean just to confirm my 10% for the Deepstack. Obviously cannot get the cash to you prior but the 10% is booked?

Matt could always give Sean the cash on your behalf?
