I was gonna write a huge long winded post but I can't be arsed.

Got QQ against Nik tigh4better weirdspazzypeeler Flanagan in a 3bet pot which obviously came ace high, we did another bet-fold.

I heard a lot of people have just been calling with AA recently when OOP to people with big squeeze %'s?

Dunno what your obsession is with me trying to outplay you specifically (especially when you're the toughest guy to play against at that table and I'm OOP 6/8 hands) when I harp on and on about how I raise/fold pre too much. So to give me A8o is just ridiculous. Can understand you're frustrated and losing at this point but felt hugely OOL.

Guess I saved you money twice seeing as I assume you'd of cold4/called had I 3b Ben.

lol yeah I was just frustrated. Just flat AA otf tho?

someone check raised AA on Axx? thank them!

Can everyone leave the London games alone already please?

There's enough love in london for everyone! esp with horseracing fish who raise/4bt   and a  !

Cheesy

ill be back soooon!

Sorry to hear about the morale fella, I don't know if im the best person to make suggestions (means I know im not, but WTF im JmfknB)  but what about chucking $200 on stars tonight and having some 25nl fun?! there will be plenty of action, its a friday so you cannot possibly lose... and it will be nice to make enough hands in a night that you have to cooler someone! get a stack and use it to help remind you about hands and variance and 'the long game' and all that claptrap.

I know it might sound silly but after my playing live for a few weeks, the first session back just reminded me how few hands you get dealt on one table in a bricks and mortar casino!

genuinely wish you the best of luck and hope morale gets a boost! if you want to skype ive got some funny stories I can't share on here! Cheesy

As an avid reader of this blog I have come to the conclusion that you are not well suited psychologically to the life of a professional poker player.

You are over-emotional, defeatist and pessimistic which is a terrible combination in your line of work.

You seem to be experiencing a pretty standard downswing yet, in your eyes, the world is conspiring to ruin your life.

I used to follow this diary for the entertaining use of language and the evocative turn of phrase, now I find myself clicking in to see what happens when morale finally reaches 0%.

Your honesty is admirable but it paints a very bleak picture of your mental state.

I hope the break helps repair your mood and attitude to life.

My scouting network told me this  today: "going for a serious cash bash tonight, guna start at aspers, and end up at the vic as the night goes on
theres just so much value in the whole of london right now, the empire is rammed, hippodrome is rammed, its a rounders dream"

There's venting and them there's just whining. You're playing live cash where you get through a bowl amount of hands and downswings seem like they go on forever. You seem to think that you're the only human that runs bad, stop comparing yourself to others that might run slightly above ev and do whatever you can do improve. You seem to be sitting around waiting to cooler people from the sounds of it. Go back to basics, value bet hard and just shrug off the dirty ones and it'll come. Going into a session thinking you're going to lose is detrimental to your game.

Time to put your big boy pants on and do a bit of winning.

Have to strongly agree with all of this, sorry to say it.

First time I've posted on here, I think.

Enjoy the diary. Understand what you're going through. Like when Alex ran bad, I said that he has the right to moan if it helps him. Same applies to you.

Hope things turn around for you.

Sean you've got a problem. It's pretty common and I feel like we've all been through it at some point, you've developed a really deluded sense of entitlement towards poker, poker owes you something, something that everyone else got/gets but you don't/didn't.

Firstly this is bad because you've now become a victim, you can tell by the way you say "going off to lose more money" "wonder what horrible beats i'll have tonight" (not direct quotes but I bet I could find more than 5 of those types of sentences from you in the last 5 pages on here. Secondly it's bad because it's just down right misguided, poker owes you NOTHING, for the last 18-24 months you've gotten up when you wanted, gone to the gym when you've wanted had days off when you've wanted been on trips/nights out etc and not had to do a single day's work, AND YOU STILL HAVE SOME MONEY TO SHOW FOR IT! If anything you owe poker a lot more gratitude and love than you show it.

The third and main reason why this mindset is so damaging is because it completely removes your objectivity, I haven't read a single "good" thought about your game and poker in this diary for god knows how long, it's always Whaletard does this Monkey does that which tbh is kinda cringing to read. You seemingly don't have the ability at the moment to objectively look at what you've been doing and trying to improve because you're lost in this cloud of how unlucky you are.

I've had plenty of big moments go against me, and for big money, and yes it's tilting (a few more 40-60%'s going my way last yr in the states could have made a huge difference to current finances) but I just remember how great I ran online 3.5 years ago to start it all, the fact I just luckboxed a poker tournament when i was down to 4bb with 24 left, the little things like your deepstack bink, my outragous equestrian bet (lol) or even just the fortune I had to meet people like Andy Moseley/Stu Rutter/Stu Barnett who helped me (mentally and financially) get into those big games in america and give myself a shot at running good and making some big money.  Whenever Moseley has had pieces of me in these games win or lose he always says the same thing afterwards "Thanks for the action man" that's how you should view poker - thanks for THE CHANCE of winning poker.

Run good comes in all sorts of forms, that easy 4hr £1k win when you're under it and have stuff to pay, the £800 win when you win AK vs AQ and AQ vs JJ that boosts morale and persuades you to buyin to a tournament you cash in and sparks a little heater etc, but so easy to forgot all those things when one 70% hand goes against you. You cant be sat there GAMBLING and then getting upset when it doesn't go your way. You shouldn't put a penny on the poker table if you're not going to be ok if you lose it but with you recently it seems like every pot makes or breaks your life. This means the only way you can be happy with poker is to win EVERY HAND you play...

I think my point is backed up by a post I made when I slightly criticized your strategy on the streamed game, I was hoping you'd retort either defending your approach or constructively analsying the points I'd made - was only posting for your benefit after all, but instead it's washed over and followed by another "lost this pot to this retard, and that pot to another spazzmonkey" bla bla my life is terrible post when alex gets Kings he wins 7,000 pounds and when I get them I win £4 or lose £600 that's the difference between me and you. (FYI there is a LOT more than seperates Alex from you at this present moment)

You seem to forget how many people your age are doing jobs they don't like getting up at 9am, they can't go to the gym whenever they feel like it like you do, or randomly take fri-sat off to spend time with their girlfriends like you can but you act like your entitled to all that and don't appreciate how lucky you are just because Alex who was a worse player than you 3 years ago has had a good bit of fortune at the right time once or twice.

Don't want to sound harsh at all, but really mate, you should know better by now. Cut all this morale 16% bullshit and start seeing the glass as half full, cos it's not even half full to be honest its about 3/4 full and it you stopped bloody moaning and drank some of it you might actually enjoy yourself.

You owe me £200.

Hope this helps.

If not, read what Lil D says.

But you still owe me £200.

Thanks.

We are going round round in circles here, everytime people give you the good advice like lil d's above.
Everytime you come out a 'changed man' and its great for a month but in sure this diary could be put on a macro gor how it works.. Same old things occur and we end up at square one.

You have so many good people around you and willing to help both live and online, the people you can seek advice from have all been in your boat and made it maybe just maybe they may be right.

I wish you the best of luck but maybe its time you had a rethink about what makes you tick, yes most people have mundane jobs and dont enjoy them, but even when you are winning you dont look happy so perhaps it is not for you although the lifestyle is (we all want the balla lifestyle) but maybe you just need to work for it.

Hope you can find something that makes you happy, my job isnt exactly inspiring but my mrale no matter what day i have is ever below 50%.

good luck sean
