Don't understand why you would need a personal trainer? if your a complete noob at using gym equipment then fair do's use one for a couple of session but otherwise you can pretty much get a really good workout program off sites like bodybuilding.com not only that but you can get a nutrition plan also.

You can do sooooooooooo much more with a personal trainer. Not only do they get you to push yourself harder, they also can spot things like when you are developing bad habits, lifting weights wrong, potentially injuring yourself etc.

In general, ofc you have to be able to do it on your own, or at least with a mate, but if you are happy to pay it (and potentially making savings in the lack of curries and pizzas etc) - well worth it

Diet 31/01/12

Pistachios 33g
Isoclear 2 scoops
Chicken Satay Skewers (Tesco)
^^ Sauce
Chicken 400g
Onion 50g
Worcs Sauce
1 Pitta
MP Cookie

Protein: 221g
Carbs:     72g
Fats:       57g

Cals:     1683

I've got a some Asparagus in along with a nice stir fry pack from M&S but mum was working until 8pm and I didn't fancy trusting the old man with either while I was working so had to stick with plain old chicken. Results have been decent this last week anyway and I'm still eating loads albeit not Dominos unfortunately Cheesy

These should be arriving on Friday along with a bench so I can start lifting again on Monday and hopefully that should see results and hopefully my bodyshape improve. I've got some photos I took yesterday on my PC and it's pretty vile viewing lol.

Many years ago before Personal Training was fashionable I had a small business as one and for most people who were Rich Business peeps its a motivation thing and they treat it as another business appt therefore turn up and Girgles has a good rate tbh imo and motivates him to get there, maybe in a couple of months when he is in the HABIT of going then he wont need 3 x week and maybe 1 x week to give him new programmes as he Plateau's as most people do.

I used to charge £30 per hour but discount to £20 if you booked 10 sessions in advance so I would say it's good value!!

After the initial benefit in getting your form right at the start, most of the value in PTs are getting you to actually go to the gym in the first place and having someone standing there watching you who won't let you think 'fuck it, I'm done' after 5 reps of an 8 set.

Cracking sesh today.

Weighed in first tho at 23st 2lbs/147.2kg which is a loss of 2lb after my little mishap yesterday.

Total lost so far - 13lbs.

Did a 60minute session on treadmill completing 6.4km in 59 minutes.

Started off with 30 minutes of continuous jogging around the 6.8kmph mark. i know this is slow compared to some people but its a steady speed for a 23 stonner. after that i did 16 mins of speed interval and finished off with 14 minutes continuous jogging again at 6.8kmph.

Burnt a good 650cals and legs felt fine.

Was supposed to have my PT but his cars in for mot. tbh i think he's struggling at home and with money so my £30 a week is steady income for him.

I've got him Friday tho.

loooooooooooool

Can i print off a cardboard cutout off bodybuilding.com to hold the pads while i spar with him?

Fair play I didn't see you mentioned you needed a sparing partner, I just assumed you were doing basic cardio/weight training to loose weight. Good luck keep training hard.

my trainer does boxing with me. also pushes me when doing conditioning work as well as correcting me on technique and motivation. well worth £30pw.

Pah, fucked up today good and proper. Had a big spread of food sat in front of me all day at a work thing, started off sensibly with healthy stuff, then onto go on just one mini roll, go on then another. Then go on just 1 slice of pizza and pretty lost control from there and stuffed my face.  Angry

Gotta draw a line under that now and start again, I hope it doesn't fuck up the weeks loss. I suppose in the whole scheme of things one bad day so far isn't that bad I guess.

Don't worry about it mate, it takes 3500 cals over maintenance to gain a lb of fat (Gatso to confirm)

Call it your cheat day and just crack on as you have been for the rest of the week  Smiley
