I backed a horse 2 weeks back and although it never won was very impressed with how it ran.  It was out with the washing early having missed the break.  But when the penny dropped it ran on really well over the final 1.5f and wasn't given too hard a ride, Trotter Nicholls did administer a few skelps with the whip but never went overboard.

Look on By - 4:50 Southwell I'd suggest £40- £60 @ 4/1

Think Bopara might be overpriced at 16s to be top bowler today-  low pitches suit him- he aint best bowler ever but can be annoying on slow low pitches, England more likely to bowl him in them conditions as well. Since he has come back from his personal problems he has taken 9 wickets in 3 one day games (whilst scoring 3 runs lol)- has also taken wickets in his last 3 ODIs for England. Bet obviously relies on a few luck factors, but think id take 16s if the game was played every day.

£20 16s ladbrokes. Dont mind if everyone else puts you off tho.

Thanks.

A Dubai Banzai? What is the world coming to? Thought he was a nit.

We have £20 with Ladbrokes @ 16/1, Mr Bopara.

With the League Cup, last year all three promoted sides in the PL went out at this stage, none of them having shown the slightest interest in going any further.

I sat through QPR 0-2 Rochdale last year, I have decided to give the game against Walsall a swerve.

The early stages of the league cup often throw up a number of big priced winners as teams field reserve teams or blood their youngsters.  The problem as ever is where to find them.   I'm going to throw up a minimum bet for consideration.

My team are Watford, and are at home tonight to Bradford.   Bradford look value to me.  The Hornets were impressive in beating a surprisingly insipid Birmingham City team on Saturday, but with a trip to Derby on Saturday coming up, I imagine Zola will use this fixture to play some youngsters and some of the new signings who haven't had a chance to start yet (Belleck and Anya).  I think Zola will rest Vydra and Abdi tonight who have been by far our most influential players so far.  Bear in mind the Watford long ball merchants are still getting to grips with Zolas short passing mentality so a duff performance can be thrown in at any time.  We were shocking against Ipswich a week ago losing to a team who followed that up with a 0-6 reverse at Blackpool.

I have high hopes for the Pozzo/Zola project, but I think the start of this season will have lots of mixed performances.

Bradford for their part are high up in L2, and must have high confidence after beating Wimbledon 5-1 on Saturday.  Watford have lost at home to Notts County and Cheltenham at similar points in the league cup in recent seasons, and Bradford seem an upgrade on these pair (Notts Co were L2 at that time).

Recommendation:  1 point on Bradford at 11/2 with Betfair.

Liked your thoughts on this, & on.

I believe it is correct, & Ladbrokes have worded it badly, or got mixed up.

I went straight to Ladbrokes by clicking the Ladbroke price on THIS oddschecker page, which clearly states "2nd ODI".....

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/england-v-south-africa/england-v-south-africa-odis/england-v-south-africa-[2nd-odi]/top-england-bowler

(Click the "All Odds" Link on the match dated 28th August to reach the above page).

It took me to a Ladbrokes Page which is clearly headed (& I C & P this)....

England v South Africa - 2nd ODI - Top England Wicket-Taker

See here....

I placed the bet on that page, but the receipt appears to be incorrectly worded, because it refers to "Series" - but that was NOT the Bet. I clicked the prioce on the page I referenced above, so I think Ladbrokes have messed this up.

Painful Customer Care Call to follow, I guess.....

not a massive thing tikay but

!I went straight to Ladbrokes by clicking the Ladbroke price on THIS oddschecker page, which clearly states "2nd ODI"....."

personally i would never click through to a bookie from oddschecker them having knowledge that you at least bother to check the prices is another factor in closure/limitation of accounts.

Am talking to their CC right now. They have acknowledged the error, & we are now trying to sort it. The Template must have been set incorrectly.

I believe they plan to credit the bet, refund me £20, & thern place the bet again manually for me.

Am on my third CC person now......groan.

OK, understood. I almost never do that, EXCEPT when, as on this occasion, I am struggling to find the correct page on the bookies site. Maybe one time in 20.

In the league cup these days I often think it is as much about managers as sides and it was warnock in charge of QPR at this point last year and yesterday he was in the press moaning about how his Leeds squad wasn't deep enough to get him through the Championship season and I really can't see him not playing a couple of kids tonight.  Given after getting beat by Rochdale last year he said he was 'glad' they were out I think 6/1 Oxford is too big.

Hi Tighty, was it me that accosted you on Saturday? If so apologies, you may have guessed but I had been drinking quite a bit and even though it was relatively early I already had selective memory syndrome.

Great weekend though and my mate binked the Omaha last night.

Ladbrokes have confirmed that the Bet WAS correctly placed, & will be settled on today's result.

I suspect that even if you placed the bet again now, on the correct page, as I did, the Receipt will STILL say "Series". They have set the Template wrong I guess.

EDIT - The template has now been corrected.

We just need Boppy do do the business now. Wink
