Australia 243/8 which puts them in the pound seats.

Teams defending scores in the 240s in ODIs this millennium: Won 61, Lost 58.

It's a toss up from here

I hope that you're  right.
New Zealand about 2/1 on Betfair - worth a max bet?

Using historical stats on different pitches with different teams involved? Seems a bonkers reason to have a max bet

Exactly. I know nothing about cricket but sometimes 240 will be a good score, sometimes it will be a bad score. Betfair is suggesting that it's somewhere on the good side, no?

I wasn't recommending a bet.

Dawn Approach is 7/4 for the St James's Palace Stakes after Jim Bolger's shock decision to enter him in next week's Royal Ascot race.

The 2000 Guineas winner had been expected to miss the Royal meeting after everything went wrong for him in the Investec Derby, but having come out of that race well he's now set to drop back to a mile.

Given that they didn't include him in previous antepost lists, Coral and Sky Bet have confirmed that bets placed prior to today will be settled without Dawn Approach, who now challenges 13/8 shot Magician at the head of the betting.

Richard Hannon's Toronado is next at 5/1 with Paddy Power and it's 25/1 bar.

After Epsom, I am surprised to see it as low as 7/4. Am I wrong, or should all be fine and dandy back over a mile on a flat mile next week?

ie tell me not to lay it....

3 part answer in my view

1, If had had not run in the Derby, what price would you lay him at?

2, Do you think he didn't stay the Derby trip, or was there was something amiss?

3, Jim Bolger tends not to be a cavalier trainer, and wouldn't report his steed as being great, if he wasn't

Basically....no idea!

Consensus seems to be DA got too excited and then used up too much gas in the first three furlongs, isn't it?

That would suggest it would have no bearing on a run back at a more favourable distance.

The horse looked like it was at a Metallica concert through the first half of the race.

Rumours of my departure date to warmer climes seem to be a bit confusing.

I was originally due to head west yesterday, but I was asked to do tomorrow's Royal Ascot Preview Show (expert, see?) so I don't leave for Vegas until Friday morning.

I will work through the thread shortly & see what needs sorting.

Good to see Max Dubai back.

MereNit takes over the reins from Midnight this evening. I am currently compiling the instructions for him, & Trading Limits.
