My humour is obviously wasted on you lot!
Anyone seriously think I'd tip a chunky bet (or a free bet) to lock up money on a 4/6 shot until September?
With
my
reputation? Just imagine the consequences...

Navas making big ground in the assists league
Rooney 9
Ozil 7
Ramsey 6
Navas 6
Gerard 6
Navas has spent a lot less time on the pitch than any of the other players around him. He seems settled now and if he stays fit/in the team i would be very confident he will at least place
Thanks John.
I gather Ozil will be AWOL for a few weeks, Ramsay is also injured, that should help us, too.
Is Ozil even in the running? He wasn't an Arsenal player at the time of the market.

Xmas out the way. I would like to suggest a second Chelt Festival bet(if it doesnt run for 7 hours it should last longer than the first one
)
I have mentioned this horse before when it came a narrow second. It won this weekend and jumped beautifully, albeit in a 3 horse affair, but is showing me all the hallmarks of a chaser tailor made for the RSA.
With the horses at the top of the market running for stables that will likely only have one representative each we have prices filled by Nichols, Lavelle and Mulins double entries that surely wont run.
Many Clouds is with an unfashionable trainer, but a popular owner, Trevor Hemmings and both have sampled Festival success several times, so the horse is in good hands. If with a bigger stable I suspect he would be a lot shorter.
So a real grinding, good jumper for the RSA, sounds a good profile to me.

I think the free bet is available to the 2nd Jan.
Ooh, well done hector, thank you, that gives us some breathing space.

Thanks Adzy, that'd be the perfect use of a Free Bet with WH, & I'm keen that we build a nice portfolio for Cheltenham.
Excuse my ignorance though (it's genuine...) but did you mean the RSA - Royal Sun Alliance Chase? I dont see Merry King listed for that.
EDIT - I've sussed it now, it is MANY CLOUDS not Merry King. I hope.

Bollox.
37/1 Betfair. It isn't just big prices we need. We really need them to be best or really close.
Hurricane Fly would probably be better even if only 4/1.

League Two Top Goalscorer Suggestion
This is a good time of the season to look at these markets with possible transfers out of the league likely to have a big effect on the market.
The current fav is SAM WINNALL for scunthorpe, having his first full professional season he is in great form and scored again on Saturday. He was however sent off for a second booking and there are two negatives in my mind. A minor one is it is his first full season and he may well burn out suffer a loss of form, he has also played most games of the contenders so far and has yet to miss a significant run of games. The major one is stories like this
http://www.teamtalk.com/scunthorpe-united/9054103/Interest-mounts-in-Winnall
He is only on a one year contract so Jan will presumably mean either a new contract signed at Scunny or a move to a league one or possibly Championship side (or a pre contract signed which may result in loss of form)
RHYS MURPHY is also having his first full season in english league football after a brief spell in the Dutch second divison last year after release from Arsenal. He has started the season well but has dried up a bit recently. He did however sign a 2 year contract so is highly unlikely to leave in Jan. He has played most minutes of any of the contenders and a minor negative would be possible burn out again.
SCOTT HOGAN is now back in league football after being released by Rochdale who then re signed him after a brief spell in non league were he nearly went to Birmingham. Again i am repeating myself but he has 26 career starts and may tire/lose form second half of season. On a positive note Rochdale are back firing under the excellent Keith Hill and that will help.
The man i like is BILLY KEE still only young but has plenty of experience and actually has the best goals to game ratio of anybody this season in League Two at 0.54 goals per game, He is currently 4 goals behind Swinnall and Murphy but has played 8 less games than both (due to injury)
In 75 games for Burton he has 37 goals this shows a fair amount of consistency at this level, he has hopefully had his injury for the season and Burton are likely to continue near the top three for the rest of the season. They dont seem to have any financial pressure to sell so a sale seems very unlikely.
Suggest £10 win Betfair Billy Kee at best odds (should get half matched at least at 21-1 now) leave rest up is fine
Shame so few firms price this market up very poor, for those who can the 18-1 with skybet looks fine as an each way bet in my opinion.

Update on a couple of tips.
Bromley are now 6/5 favourites for the title in from 6/1 when i suggested it. Eastleigh are hot on their tails despite the points gap at the top, so it is by no means in the bag, but with the 17 points cushion from 4th you would have to hope it is for the place part of your bet. Both of the top two are on stonking form, and meet in late January which might have a huge bearing on who takes the title, it is on mid week, so I might get myself down to Bromley to watch it.
http://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/confsouth
With Dulwich, they are now second. Into 9/2 for the title, from the 9/1 tipped. They aren't doing badly at all. Seemed to be able to pick out one of their dips for everyone recently with the Lowestoft bet, but for the league title they really need to be considered. They play some of the most attractive stuff I have seen below league football. It is beautiful, passing it short from the back, and the goalkeeper rarely kicks from his hands and always does a short roll to the centre back who, even when under duress from two attackers will just loop a ball over to a wing back for them to take it down arrogantly and push on from there. They are passing teams to death.
They become undone when probably playing on pitches not conducive to their style (probably why Lowestoft game let us down) or when a team are downright direct and hard into a tackle like Wealdstone, backing it up with real finishing quality. Still missing that striker to really get Hamlet going but they are currently relying on a 5'2 midfield maestro donned as the Ryman League Messi, who has scored 14 goals this season, Erhun Oztuhmer. If you get the chance to see them play, you won't regret it.
The place part of the bet is up in the air for top 3, but could be in a worse position.

Billy Kee sounds a good bet in particular. Good rummaging generally there.
