I think they have all trained FWIW. No one's bedridden.

Schweinsteiger and Khedira are "understood" to be two of those affected, along with the reserve 'keeper. All those affected trained yesterday, apparently.

Sportsbook have just put a very interesting market

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/summer-transfer/premier-league-club-to-sign-most-players

First thoughts with spending one minutes is Liverpool at 14's look fair?

Signed 3 already if/when Suarez goes presumably will sign at least 2 with some of that

Any Views? Suppose Qpr are a worthy fav for obvious reasons

Would Southampton be a consideration, having sold half their team?
exactly what I am thinking with rumours of at least 4 more going to leave and maybe more can't see the odds on my iPad though

Saints price must be wrong surely.  16-1 outsider?

I don't understand the France odds either.  Definitely a pickem affair.

As for the red cards, it seems that you need to take someone's head off just to get a yellow card under the new directives, so don't fancy a red much (although I guess professional foul is a professional foul)

9/5 Germany 15/8 France is as close to a pick em as you get bar making them 9/5 each?

Ha - oh sorry - last time I checked France were 5/2 and Germany clear favs!  That was a couple of days back though.

GER team: Neuer - Lahm, Boateng, Hummels, Howedes - Schweinsteiger, Khedira - Muller, Kroos Ozil - Klose

i dare say there is a surprise or two there that won't be factored into markets yet

Colombia now 21/5 with BMU to beat Brazil.  That worked out well :\

Chompy's favourite Kingston Hill is 11/2 with b365. Win price is bang on betfair.  Each way is quarter first 3, so beat the place market by quite a bit.  Seems solid to me.  Non runner no bet.

Laddies were 6/1 when I looked, though each way terms not nearly so good.  I can't get on, but would have to be win only there, and it becomes a lot less attractive without the place bet.

b365 will let tikay have £4.45 e/w 11/2 1/4 odds

everyone else is 1/5 the odds

some rain forecast for kingston hill

anyway, £4.45 e/w if we want it!

Actually think Brazil are now a fair price myself

All opinions

Have backed them small and saved on no goalscorer

Thoughts on no goalscorer in the Arg/Bel game horsey? 7/1 general, 11/1 Stan James

0-0 8.6 to lay
Possible scoop with just own goals

Imagine a Venn Diagram.

Circle one is labelled Football

Circle two is labelled Stat Porn

This is right in the middle:

Cup of tea required beforehand. I'd suggest opening "the good biscuits", too. Well worth it

ok i finally on my PC and saw the odds and checked out the saints squad

this is my findings

looking at the first team squad currently we have 22 players in the first team squad which seems a fair number maybe 2-3 shy i always think 25 is a healthy number
so lets say saints need 3 players to get squad upto opitmium
but in that squad is 4 players 19 or under
James Ward-Prowse
Calum Chambers
Harrison Reed
Sam Gallagher
players under 20 shouldnt really count in that 25 man squad they are really an addition there wages aer much lower
and they should be used gradually integrating into the team (not all of them are like shaw) so lets take down the squad to 18 meaning ideally we are looking at
getting in 7 new players

but wait in that 18 we have
Pablo Osvaldo
Morgan Schneiderlin
Dejan Lovren
Billy Sharp
all 4 are likely to leave sharp just hasnt the quailty for EPL and if a permanent team cant be found will find himself out on loan again

this take our squad down to 14 players meaning we are very likely going to need to buy in between 7 and 11 players to make a full squad

16-1 is HUGE

i would say its well would putting a small tickle on the saints £5 and would recommend doing it sooner rather than later as once the first purchases start coming in the price is going to crash
as lovern and schnderlin will be allowed to leave once they start getting cover in

if we dont get in atleast 7 players before the first day of season i would say we are going to be fighting the drop

In between telling him how unlikely 1-0 and own goal is to actually happen he managed to tell me he is on rations food wise so I might treat him to a slap up meal at Frankie and bennies at the next break. Poor guy looks like he needs a good meal!!!
