To my untrained eye, Manning had an absolute mare.

I've seen this kind of comment elsewhere, and I think it's very harsh.
He clearly isn't the player he was, and his old, and much-injured body cannot do things like he used to.

On the flip side, he got an ok, but not stellar, offence, to be decently functional against a very good defensive unit.
He also used his experience to manage situations exceptionally well - I think they mentioned in commentary that every Denver snap in the 4th quarter was taken with less than 2 seconds on the play clock.

The yardage stats are very low, but in part affected by the game situation in the second half.

No longer the star player, but great credit for having the character to accept that, and play to his strengths in order to achieve the end goal.

Excellent research and tip Tal.

not to  blow smoke too much, but i thought it was an example of where the thread works best

genuinely left field thought process, linking Lady G to McQueen to Bowie to Red and not the sort of thing you'd see anywhere else

Agree , that extra bit of research in these novelty markets is invaluable. Didn't get on but well played Tal.

Thanks, all.

Fun night. Shame we didn't get on Denver for Fred a few weeks back when we were mulling it. 6/1 I believe? I'm sure a few got on, though.

Without looking, I'm figuring Fred had a decent NFL season this year, although it could have been better if we'd got Palmer home. It seems to be a sport we have quite a few people interested in, so we have hope for next year.

How long til draft night? Smiley

3rd ODI tomorrow morning at Centurion. Seems to be a habit of early wickets falling at the ground. Line is set around 28.5 for both sides, depending on which bookie you can use and what price is best etc. Last 10 ODI's (since 2009) at the venue featuring South Africa the opening partnerships have been:

South Africa : 46, 6, 22, 39, 26, 4, 16, 27, 9, 22 (8/10 under 28.5) www.oddschecker.com/cricket/south-africa-v-england/3rd-odi/south-africa-opening-partnership

Opposition : 3, 0, DNB, 2, 29, 21, 21, 28, 16, 12 (8/9 under 28.5) www.oddschecker.com/cricket/south-africa-v-england/3rd-odi/england-opening-partnership

They hosted a couple of games as a neutral venue in 2009 also for the champions trophy, all 4 opening partnerships would have been unders

I've had my doubts about the strength of the Saffers bowling attack from the start of the series, but if it's Abbott, Rabada and M.Morkel again that's fine for the bet. Only worry would be if it was the Morris/De Lange garbage from game 1.

rec £20-30 on unders for both sides opening partnerships

NFL stats for TfT

all figures in £

From May 2015, so as to include the draft bets

Profit 327.84
Staked 1997.98
ROI 16.41%
No of Bets 82
Average bet size £24.30

From Sept 2015 so season only including sb50

Profit 208.84
Staked 1722.98
ROI 12.12%
No of Bets 79
Average bet size £21.79

All time since 2012

Profit 1298.35
Staked 11185.09
ROI 11.61%
No of Bets 343
Average bet size £32.60

We are restricted in a lot of sub-markets in a lot of places, and draft markets are thin, but its a very creditable performance nonetheless

Link to each bet on my rec? Should be seperate markets on each sides opening partnerships. Sky are 10/11 for the lines instead of regular 5/6, so check on their site of you can use them
