YouGov Poll in Times: 28% of public want no-deal Brexit while 43% want to revoke A50 and remain in EU.

Of course these figures flip dramatically when it comes to electing a new PM by the membership

Johnson/Hunt know what to say to win, but what about governing the country afterwards?

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/tory-leadership-race-boris-johnson-to-pull-britain-out-of-eu-do-or-die-593qkwdqq

Not a fan of these polls because it’s set against a landscape of shambolic mismanagement. We’re not actually asking the original question anymore. We’re asking Do you want cluster fuck misery to end? Shows just how strong original sentiment was that a third of the country do not.

None.
For the same reason that Trump voters wouldn’t have voted to Leave.

Next question...

I wonder how many remain voters would have voted for Cadburys Dairy Milk Chocolate as the best chocolate bar ever invented.

FYI Dairy Milk beat Maltesters 53% to 47%.

Absolute travesty. The UK public need to open their minds.

Who did the brexit voters for is the bigger question if both options are brown?

Let’s not forget that brexit voters are stupid and easily misled, they probably thought they were voting for Milky Bar.

I suspect they didn’t realise that Maltesers was actually a chocolate bar. Another case of dumb voters being misinformed by the (chocolate bar) experts.

Dominic Grieve and Margaret Beckett have tabled an amendment to the estimates (next week) which seeks to stop the UK leaving the EU in October without a deal unless it is approved by MP

if it passes and the government goes for no deal without MPs consent (proroguing etc) then Parliament would withhold funding for goovernment departments, thus making the running of departments and therefore no deal untenable

Prospect Magazine

"A lot of what’s coming can’t be predicted, but one thing is for sure: Britain is heading for a massive political crisis either next month or in October - and Johnson’s toast."

I like the URL,nice and dramatic

Westminster voting intention:

BREX: 22% (-1)
CON: 22% (+2)
LAB: 20% (-)
LDEM: 19% (-2)
GRN: 10% (+1)

one (admittedly remainer) commentator opined

"Three years into the worst peacetime political crisis in our modern history, and four weeks from electing a narcissistic sociopathic pathological liar as prime minister, the main Opposition party should not be third in any poll under any circumstance."

Theresa May’s Brexit strategy was to play chicken with parliament. Boris Johnson’s is to play chicken with the EU, says James Forsyth

Looks like Amber Rudd, David Gauke, David Liddington to name a few will be heading to the backbenches. Not surprising, but seems a good way to unify opposition to no deal to me....

Johnson says every member of his Cabinet must sign up to Britain leaving the EU by October 31 - deal or no deal in this interview

a view i saw overnight was

"With Boris Johnson pushing for no deal, the remain movement must now shift away from advocating a People’s Vote in favour of arguing to revoke Article 50 — so a 2nd referendum instead becomes the compromise, the notion of cancelling Brexit is normalised & they control the framing"
