Speaker of the house is really stroking his own ego today and maybe quite rightly having a pop at the Chancellor. Tough first weds session for the new tory front bench.

This is kind of what I was asking before.
Papers reporting they have been sacked, but in any other role if you went and sat at your desk the next day you would be escorted off the premises.
They just aren’t Conservatives any more. They remain MP’s until an election/by-election. None of them were in ministerial roles. Are they literally not Conservatives any more? So they remain MP's but they are all currently independent? Is the seating arrangement by MP or party?

First two are definitely yes but I really think the PM’s office might have to rethink what they’ve done at some stage. Where they sit is just established by convention/precedent/tradition, there are no hard and fast rules. Johnson won’t be telling Clarke or Soames where to sit any time soon.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Like a political version of TOWIE You wouldn't believe any of this, if you didn't see it happening.

Parties blocking no deal, suspending parliament, lazy speaker, blocking general election, no negotiation, deselecting MP’s and no light at the end of the tunnel for Brexit.
Does anybody wonder how much longer it can go on before we’re just forced to revoke and forget about leaving he EU? This week was supposed to be the week it comes clearer...

A few posts have been removed by the Mods as things got a bit out of line.
Come on lads, no need to insult each other & be personal.
Thanks.
Yet they allow horsey post to stand not more than two post above this original post of yours. Really are some very one sided mods on this forum. Horsey done nothing but pop up and slag leavers off, no other contribution, but that seems ok. Wp Blonde

Can a prime minister call a GE whenever he wants or does he need backing from his party?

It’s a long read but it’s explained early on. They won’t let him have an election at the moment, as he can’t be trusted not to alter the agreed time lines to corrupt the delivery of Brexit. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fixed-term_Parliaments_Act_2011
