Not winning yesterday,as it turned out was the difference between 9th and 12th and cost us £6m

Slimani missed a free header lateon in the 6 yard box,now coined the "£6m header"

A statement, from Riyad Mahrez, has appeared on Sky Sports in which he expresses his desire to leave Leicester City this summer:

"Out of the huge admiration and respect I hold for Leicester City Football Club I wanted to be totally honest and transparent with them and have therefore informed the club that I feel now is the time for me to move on.

"I had a good discussion with the Chairman last summer and we agreed at that time that I would stay for another year in order to help the club as best as I could following the transition of winning the title and in the Champions League.

"However, I am fiercely ambitious and feel that now is the time to move on to a new experience.

"I've always enjoyed a good relationship with the Chairman and everyone at the club, and I hope I have been able to repay the faith shown to me by my performances and commitment on the pitch during my time here.

"I've had the four best seasons of my career at Leicester and have loved every moment. I feel immense pride to have been a part of what we have achieved during my time at the club, culminating in becoming Premier League Champions.

"The relationship I share with the club and our amazing fans is something I will treasure forever and I truly hope they will understand and respect my decision."

under contract and plenty of suitors, so should get a fair price

Hopefully we can give demarai gray a proper chance now

Most likely destination?

not a clue

i thought PSG for a long time, then Barca werementioned but his form has tailed off since then

then Arsenal and Man C and Tottenham were mentioned towards the back end of last season

then Monaco recently

must be a champions league side and he's a big city boy who reputedly missed Paris so i suppose i would have PSG first

Looks like you're about to sign Nacho.....

Good signing? Think he could do well in the midlands?

well i hope he would be. what do you think?

natural finisher from what i have seen and the age where he could improve further but might be blocked at Man C from playing the volume of games he would like?

with Mahrez off eventauly, performances like those from Demarai Gray last night hint at why we would like to see him get a real run in the team next season

though i gatyher the big boys are already circling both he and Chilwell

I think he's already a good player and an excellent prospect, however as you alluded to he needs game time and he's unlikely to get many runouts at City this season.

The reason he needs game time is that I think his 'football intelligence' (for want of a better phrase) isn't quite what it needs to be, and this can only be ironed out with minutes on the pitch. He's excellent at being in the right place at the right time, a natural poacher, but his link up play and decision making both need work and I think this is the reason why Pep is happy to let him move on.

I hope we stick various clauses in the deal!

Ps welcome back.

Riyad Mahrez left out in the cold with Arsenal unwilling to meet Leicester's £50million valuation

Lemar appears to be their first choice and Mahrez is pre-season training with us, with a cob on

Leicester City have £40m bid rejected for Gylfi Sigurdsson. Swansea want £50m. I want some of this monopoly money

Ihenacho is close, resolving a contractual wrangle with his former agents. £25m plus a buy back clause or £30m and no buy back clause, depending who you speak to

With my fantasy football hat on, and should the deal conclude of course, how much game time does Nacho get at Leicester....

Assume Vardy won't be warming the bench, so does that put Nacho in direct competition with the Japanese fella and Slimani for the support striker role? Musa and Ulloa likely to be out the picture?

I don't know

he couple play up top alongside vardy in a 4-4-2

he could play behind him in a 4-4-1-1 (Okazaki role)

he could play wide in a 3 in a 4-2-3-1

or he could be on the bench

slimani is meant to be going, Musa too.

Strangely they appear to want to offer Ulloa a new contract

£50m for sigurdsson just about sums up how crazy transfer fees have become. Great player, but that's insane. Hopefully we see a fair bit of Nacho this season, another top signing. Realistically what are you lot aiming for this season? Europa League? Top 10 and a crack at a trophy?
