Prince Phillip rumours flying around.

a) can't believe you'd be surfing the net for rumours
b) can't believe you could mis-spell the name of our racist fascist Royal Prince

NB No offence intended

Neil Innes RIP

His/Their Rutles creation was pure genius. Birth of the rockumentary, quite possibly, and worth a watch even now.

So many great moments, The Rutles was/were marvellous but so too were the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.

Neil Peart RIP

Any Rush fans out there?
OTT prog-rock band that built a major following in their native Canada and beyond. Loved “Moving Pictures” with Lifeson’s multi-layered synths, Peart’s thunderous drums and Geddy Lee’s high-pitched vocals. He had some allegedly questionable political views, but don’t we all at one stage of our life or other?

Excellent obit in today’s Times, as always.

RIP

I loved a lot of early Rush stuff, the later stuff not so much. Neil Peart was one of the best drummers in the business. I was in awe however how a band of 3 members made such a wonderful sound. I wasn't a huge fan of Geddy Lee until he did this interview about his parents and the Halocaust and I felt a bit differently.

Derek Fowlds has died, aged 82.

I loved his character of Bernard in Yes, Minister & Yes, Prime Minister.  Sir Humphrey general got all the monologues, but Bernard had the one-line killers in the script from the background.

I hadn't realised he was Basil Brush's sidekick at one point, but it was probably the era when I watched the show as a child.

A notable example of the above:
