We have a wee bit of our own springwatch going on at the Geo household.

I have been employing two of my sons to clear away our overgrown garden area at the back of our flat. They have been working on it for about 2 months now. Lots of clearing away of giant weeds, old tree stumps. Fence building and they have created a raised planting area.

During this time they would often mention seeing a couple of foxes within the overgrown areas adjacent to ours. We have been leaving food out recently as there were signs they had been visiting the garden area.

Mrs Geo and I returned today from a long weekend in York to news that the foxes had been visiting. Mrs Geo decided to sit in hiding this evening and received a lovely surprise

Amazing just how close they got to the missus. The Vixen seems confident enough to also bring the cubs in. Not the greatest video but I'll be setting some sort of hide with tripod and camera soon

Just heard the Cuckoo in Blankney wood

No cuckoo or swallows for me yet. Sad

Was at Castle Howard yesterday which isn't too far from you I think. Heard my first cuckoo and seen swallows on the estate.

Fantastic footage of the foxes Geo. Because we see so much good wildlife stuff on TV people take it for granted, they don't realise how rare and difficult it is for an amateur to get those type of shots.

The wife and I sat out for quite a while tonight watching them come and go. We now have loads of videos mostly on phone.

Tomorrow I'm out to source some sort of hide in which to erect my tripod and camera hoping for better results

My current favourite news story.

I have absolutely no sympathy for the silly bitch. (Shame for the other cast members though)

A spokeswoman for Sanofi, the pharmaceutical company that makes Ambien, said in response to Barr's tweets about taking the sedative: "While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication."

This wins the internet for a 'kin long time.

Perfect, wasn't it?

Nasty story really, amazing there are still folks around who think that way.
