Serengeti. BBC1.

Worth watching for the stunning photography.

Strike that. The narration is so bad I just can't be doing with it.

It's unwatchable Tom. Such a shame such wonderful camera work is undone by shite narration.

Lol.

Moved to Horseyville with science wife have we?

Sounds cushty to me.

It's very rural so there's definitely more than average.

We also have kittens

very cushty - life is good Smiley

The kittens look great.

How old,  what sex, are they siblings, are they a pedigree breed?

They were a few months old in those photos in January; almost too old to call them kittens now

They are sisters from a litter of 6 girls; and sort of - they're Scottish Folds who have a gene which stops their ears unfolding.
But this was a litter who inherited the gene from their other parent who is a British Short Hair - they're bred like this to avoid the health risk associated with breeding Scottish Folds together (they're all descended from a single cat).
Some places count it as pedigree (like the US) and some places don't (like the UK).

EDIT: as an aside one of Science Wife's favourite things is hearing how adorable they are. It basically happens whenever people see them (so far that would be neighbours, vets, random people at the vets, paramedics and family and work colleagues Cheesy)

That fold gene must be very dominant.

I keep being tempted by the adverts for these, but then I remember that it’s the cutting to shape that is the bit I can’t do.
I inherited a coping saw in the box of tools my father in law never used. Bought new blades and made countless attempts at cutting a piece of moulding to get a neat corner joint. All failed.

I take it you've tried a mitre box?

Yes I have but when the job you want to do is cutting treated 10 x 2's it's redundant along with a tenon saw.

What are you doing with 10x2's?

I was building 2 raised vegetable beds that needed to be super strong for an arch that was going in the middle. But I found a brilliant wood yard that sold it and the 6 x 2 by the metre and cut it all up for me.

I learned an interesting and obscure new fact the other day about Lauren Bacall.

Her first cousin was the celebrated Israeli labour polititian and several times Prime Minister Simon Peres.

It had never even occurred to me that she might be Jewish.

I love all this unseen connections stuff Ralph.

Do you remember James Burke with his Connections Programme?
