Not sure if that includes me, I even had to look up entothingy. But yes, DID is a National Treasure though I do miss Roy Plumley.

On which note, I'm reminded of Theme Tunes to TV & Wireless programmes.
It's strangely satisfying to hear the theme tune for DID & the Shipping Forecast. "Sailing By" is just so soothing late at night.

Yes it includes you, but for reasons not obvious until you listen to it.

Oh God, the stammer thing...
What memories.
Wanting to go to toilet during a school lesson & not being able to say the words, so the Teacher would force me to stand up & sing "Please Miss, I want to go to wee". (Generally, singing cancels out a stammer). Nobody will ever know the embarrassment & hurt.
I was (still am, obv) left-handed, & that was very much frowned upon in those days, so at school I was required to write with my right hand, which was my "wrong" hand.
We've come a long way since then, perhaps too far in some respects, but life is certainly better these days for disadvantaged kids.
I ended up going to a Special School, & the Coach used to pick me up every day & on it were all the Downs Syndrome kids. Which is why, to this day, phrases bandied about too easily, especially in poker, "mong", "spas", window-lickers", "droolers" still to this day sends me into almost uncontrollable (& probably totally unreasonable) rage. If only they knew.
Next case.

The bit that made me laugh was he had a fantastic career, a beautiful wife/kids etc, and his dad said "You will never amount to anything until you do something about that stammer"

Ha, yes, but that was the thinking in those days.
Oh boy, how things have improved in so many ways. Imagine being gay (homosexual was the term then) in the 50's, in fact it was actually illegal. I'm not even sure I'd ever heard of lesbianism as a child, & I definitely have no recollection of transgender stuff. It must have existed though.
The world may have gone mad since then but it's so much better in so many ways.

Agreed.
It's the same with all the Health and Safety stuff I complain about. It may be a PITA but it prevents a lot of misery and suffering.
There should be a rule that anyone who enforces Health and Safety is not allowed to wear corduroy jackets with leather elbow patches though.
