Just caught up and thought this particular post needed to be quoted.

Milligan nails it!

Online games been quiet as well even, everyone in the UK is out enjoying the sunshine these last 10 days, its not just poker clubs either, anyone running any business will be suffering a trough in business right now imo, which I don't think will be the end of the world for a lot of people, as it means they can enjoy the sunshine too!

In other news weather is supposed to be getting colder from tomorrow, hopefully things will be picking up.

Had a really good night last night and got out of the hole for the month. Had to leave early due to "paroxysmal event," which was as fun as it sounds... Took almost no hand to showdown yesterday, so no real trip report to speak of, but somehow ended up winning a bunch of money. Actually there was one hand on the £1/1 round of each game that was a little Goulder-esque. I raise MP with the to £6 and way we go five ways to the flop of . Oh hai der. The big blind donks into me for £23, I call, the guy behind me makes it £55, then the lady in the small blind just sticks the lot in. Weeeee. I call of course for about £170, the others fold, and I somehow fade four outs twice.

Got out of it at the end of the month to win £130, which is just over £1/hr. Marv. Let's do better in April.

Lol. I saw this hand and have to say I've never seen anyone look so frightened to be getting their money in with the nuts. Asking the lady if she had a set gave her a little hope that her two pair may have been ahead was a nice touch too Smiley

Stuff actually happened last night! So this report won't just be a brief summary of me folding and then fainting!

I'm still incredibly bruised from football on monday. It was a lot of fun, but it's been a long time since I kicked a ball, and I'm for sure not the pacey left winger I used to be; this was made evident quite early on when I went to skin Keys and sprint down the line and ended up tripping over thin air. I do need my quadriceps to recover so I can walk properly, and some insoles to avoid more hefty blisters pre-Monday so I can embarrass myself all over again. And shoulder barge the Goulder again and send him flyyyying.

Went to Birmingham yesterday with Creasey and our maids; I went with hopes of breaking what's left of my bank, but came back with two t-shirts and some new gym shorts to replace the ones I tore whilst not exactly tearing past Keys... Oh, and Pop Tarts. Lots of Pop tarts. It was a good day out though, nice to hobble around a different city once in a while, and it's always nice to be in the company of those who are familiar with my appalling social tekkers.

My intention last night was to turn up at Dusk at around 10pm, as there were rumours that the Leicesterfish was going to be present. I ended up taking a nap, however, and rolled in at midnight to find the 1/2 was full. My intention was to kill some time on the 50/1 until a seat opened up, and in the meantime ended up stacking someone QQ > AK all in pre for £90 each. First card out was an aceball, "that's why I don't turn my cards over" I moaned, as if that has anything to do with the outcome. The turn card was clearly fed up of me grumbling though. Moaning it in like a boss. That game broke and I ended up on a table FULL of terrible 50/1 regs, and Alexandrea. Naturally I decide to tangle with the one they call Golden instead of picking off the fish, and butchered a hand horribly versus him, before I ended up stacking the tilty European they call José. Raised pre, got three callers, flopped the nuts (I know, you just read this hand history in the Poshboy's diary) on . I bet £10 he calls, heads up to a turn. I make it £26 and he makes a massive speech about "I know what you're doing, you have a flush draw." At which point I'm fairly confident I just coolered him on this turn card and stick the rest in, he calls drawing dead with the . What a life.

Moved over to the £1/2 shortly afterwards, first hand I played is something I'm putting in the PHA I think. Nothing really happened to me for a while, Ben Vinson was crushing the table, I was just waiting for a decent spot to stack one of the two remaining fish. The unlikely scenario set itself up when I completed from the big blind to Ming's straddle with three clubs. He made it £18, the other two call again so I sheepishly flick it in with the intention of perhaps gambling a little more for a few hands before calling it a night. Anyway that's when we flop trips on three diamonds . Check, Ming bets £38, folds to me. I know if I make a big checkraise he'll put me on a flush draw, but I still want to leave enough behind for him to jam overcards and flushdraws now. So I make it £115 playing £360 effective. He tanks and sticks it in, I call obviously and hold versus what he tells me later was an overpair. Ben left shortly after and the game was dead, so the rest of us moved over to the £1/1 4/5/6 PLO game that's started becoming quite popular amongst players that are clearly a little bored with the new 50/1 limits and rules towards the end of the night and just want to gamble it up a bit either because they're losing and want to breakeven and feel (correctly) that it's hard to do so with two cards, or because they're winning a bunch and are feeling confident enough to take the plunge. It's great news for me of course, I just stop by and pick up some loose change; mop up some of the spew.

I saw how the game was playing though, and decided to sit shallow and just stick it in with some reasonable equity. It was getting close to the end and I didn't fancy a massive gamble for a bunch of money that would be impossible to win back at this point in the night. I took the £64 change out of the rack and folded for probably an orbit before finding three diamonds three clubs in the cutoff. The action went limp, raise £5 call call, so I thought this was a decent enough hand/spot and made it £25. We go four ways to the flop of . Checked to me and I stick it in, then Ming on the big blind moves the lot in and the guy in seat 1 calls too. 100% Ming has a wrap type hand here, but the other guy in the hand would only get it in with a made hand and I don't think he's going crackers with two pair, so I feel like I'm dead here. "I think I need some backdoor stuff," I mutter to a guy on the rail. on the turn, Ming goes mental shouting "nuts, I go' shraight!" on the river. Where the fuck did that come from? My backdoor stuff has arrived! Booked a win to the tune of £556. April is indeed a new month. Still think I might get a job though, just during the week when I should probably be playing online anyway.

Important information for backers: day 1c was sold out by the time I could get around to buying in, so I'll be playing Thursday 1b of the UKIPT1 Smiley

Sean have you noticed much difference in the tips given to the dealers since the changes and how do they compare to when you were doing the job?
