The games in London are still really lively, majority of the pros are in Vegas, if you guys get time try and come down, the vik has a really lively 1-2 Omaha game that you'd enjoy and probably crush and for NLH you have some great 1-2 games at the Empire, Hippo, Mint and Aspers (usually 1-1) now that Niks a pro too, you guys should split the cost and get down..

Joined another 1/1 game afterwards, which sounded like a lot of fun but it was some stoner nit weird guy with lego making a lot of noise; rastafish who was sat there with no money, just a glass of red wine; and me and peejay folding every hand. They called last three, and I took this as an opportunity to truly outplay cooler MelissaChloe. Everybody limped to my big blind where I checked the . I led for £5 into £7 on and MelissaChloe did a raise to £18 £17. I called and checked the over to her. She bets £34 £32 and I called. The hit the river and I checked over to her again. She bets £77 and I jam for £90 more and she hero snap called me with a worse kings full. These internet kidz are amazing.

Dayum, I've been putting this out there for months. I'd love to spend time in London while Sean checks out the poker scene. Unfortunately, significant others tend to cramp one's style.

You are your significant other's style.

So we managed to scrape a game or two together over the weekend, although the state of poker in Nottingham at the moment is a joke and I guess the time has come for me to start traveling for games. I've heard they're good in Sheffield, can anyone confirm or deny this? Does anyone know about Birmingham? Obviously I'll have to give London a crack but I won't just drive down for the night, I'll need to head down for a few days at a time, see if some of my friends out there can accommodate me Wink

At the minute it almost feels like Dusk Till Dawn don't want to run cash games. Maybe some light will be shed on this over the next few weeks...

Not much to discuss, poker-wise, at the moment. I played the horrible hundred over the weekend; the overlay was like 40% or something gross. I failed to capitalise. I brought my A-game to the table, but unfortunately couldn't win an all-in! Lost JJ < K7 to go to 120k at the 300/600/75 level, with a table that would have let me run right over it and instead had a grind a shortstack heads up in a 4-way last longer bet! Held for the last longer money, but failed to hold when I moved tables and was all-in before my chips were out of the rack with AA < 88. I moved to the 1/2 game and within an orbit had given £400 to Nik Flanagan with KK < AA. No justice eh? Wink Actually, justice came last night when the following hand took place:

£1/1 game, average stack of £400, most of the whales had gone home but at least we still had PeeJay. Nik opens to £4 from the hijack, I call the cutoff with . One of the blinds calls and we go three ways to the flop.

Flop (£13)

Checked to me, I bet £8, the blind folds, and Nik calls. Basically has one of like six hands now.

Turn (£29)

Unfortunately one of those hands just made the nuts, but the rest will either fold now or call and fold river loads, plus I might make the best hand sometimes so feels like a slam dunk turn bet of £18. Nik reaches for what looks like calling chips but then clicks it back to £44. Call.

River (£117) three clubs

Nik bets £85 and we move in for £200 more. He calls immediately before declaring that "a flush is good."

Hurry back from Vegas, Alex. I've started whacking Nik instead while you've been away and it doesn't bring me anywhere near as much satisfaction.

Normal order will be restored when we're back mate. We'll get some games going. And of course I can take over whacking Nik from you if you want.

Had an incred day off yesterday. The weather was beautiful so we got another barbeque going and we just ate until we couldn't move. Great food, great company, and of course plenty of degenerate gambling. We got some open face chinese going, with the following rules: 4 jokers, you're dealt 8 cards each of which you muck 2 and pass 2 to the player to your left, then you set your 6 card hand and it plays out as normal. It can lead to some pretty horrifying moments such as Matt keeping four to a straight flush, mucking a pair and shipping me the offsuit jack and three; what was extremely unfortunate for him and the other player involved was that he gave me the to immediately complete my royal flush at the back. I think it's healthy to include such emotions as devastation and guilt into a high variance form of gambling. Cheesy

This simply turned into a 25p/25p game after more people wanted to play chinese than one deck could accomodate, I was sticking it in blind and making some ridiculous bluffs and calls and generally trying to throw a party for everyone. Somehow ended up taking the game for 400bb. I staked Beth to play in the game as well. She started with whatever she just reached into my stack and grabbed which I think we about £20, took an outrageous check/raise/call all-in line with AKo on Q 9 4, rivered a king and cashed out. I suppose she has a lot of variance to make up for having been stuck with me for life.

After everyone else had run out of money, we decided to head to the local skate park. Not many of you will know this, but I used to skateboard up until I was around 18. At the time I thought I was shit, and none of my friends wanted to do it anymore so I quit, but kept my board for nostalgia purposes (and because I spent an absolute load of money on it.) Last night I dug it out for the first time in absolutely ages. I was so sketchy it was a bit of a joke, but I had fun and I'd forgotten how good exercise it was. It took me about 30 seconds to fall asleep after I got home!

Start my 10k training today. I'm excited now, but we'll see how enthused I am after run #1.

Hi Sean!

With regards to Sheffield game the cash games are ok. Cash games most days are getting started as 1/2 at G Casino every day from 5.30pm, £5 rake max. There is also decent cash games at Genting, but three only happen at the weekend or Monday for the £75fo (5k gte), but raked at £3. Also possible deep PLO game there after 1am, got one started about 2am and lost a bag in no time at 2/2.

Best bet is G casino from 5.30. It may be best to go there on a Wednesday.

Hope this helps, any more info just ask

Not had much to discuss the past couple of nights, although I do have a couple of hands for amusement.

Hand #1

I'm winning £300, it's 2am and for some reason I'm incredibly tired, I've declared last three hands, and I have a chip tray in front of me ready to go. The £2 straddle is on and we're in the cutoff. There's a couple limpers, and we make it £15 with . Bully87 who's losing and rofling it in makes it £35 from the button with £100 behind; and some guy who tried to sit with £1k, barely knows the rules but disappointingly hasn't played many hands calls from the small blind playing about the same. This is a pretty sigh spot as, though it's a relatively easy all-in, I really just wanted to go home lol. Anyway I shovel, Bull calls, and so does random. The board runs out a bunch of bricks: . I whip over AK high like it's the nuts. Bull mucks. Random says "I'm sorry mate," and whips over the .

#jackandfour

I have ALL the time for jack and four. I wanted to high five the guy, but my social ineptitude and various disorders mean I have a crippling fear of human contact.

Hand #2

This hand was so boring it literally sent me to sleep and I needed to go home almost immediately afterwards, but it's still quite an amusing fade/get there story.

I'm losing a little and I haven't reloaded yet, I'm just finishing my dinner then I'll see about topping up/switching gears etc. The £2 straddle is on, the hijack opens to £8 and I 3ball the from the button to £28, it folds back to the raiser and he calls. The flop is . That's my prop for a start, and I've flopped the joint, and the guy is reaching for chips. Save for an overall feeling of general deterioration, this feels like my birthday. He leads for £50, and I've only got £90 left so it's the easiest pile of all time. Then, something unusual happens. He tanks... And tanks........

... He asks for a count. I tell him it's another £40 and even tell him that he can't fold any two cards for that price...

... I consider calling a clock...

........ He calls.

turn. I whip my hand over. river.

"Full house."

I double take.

Well. Shit. That'll do.
