Starting a 560 cals a day diet for I would say a couple of months. Should be interesting to see if I can stick it and if it affects the poker
What is the diet ?
What are you going to be eating for your 560 cals?
The lighter life diet, not sure of the nutrition of what they provide.

Interesting watch that. I only just started my own fast yesterday after admin problems. Abso starving, can only deal with 520 cals daily and using poker to keep my mind occupied. One of the reasons I am playing at the DTD today instead of tomorrow, with tomoz making much more sense, o well.

Still managed to maintain my weight, not sure how because my diet has been awful.
Pondering what my next challenge could be. My energy levels in general have been pretty poor, I am usually shattered by early evening. I'm considering some sort of challenge which will have the side effect of boosting my energy levels - any ideas?

Hi Guys,
Found this thread by accident i spent about 3 hours reading it, (obv playing at the same time), skipped chunks but really got the flavour of it. I think some of you guys who feel its not going well should read back on some of your old posts and recognise how well you have done. Big lads counting cals, running 10k's, getting into wedding suits, giving to charity, diet advice, exercise training programmes cet ect ect.. Erm yes and all poker players.
I found it to be a great read and inspiring and i would like to participate.
I was at my heaviest weight ever at 12 stone exactly, have been on a diet for 2 weeks and have lost 4lb ( its all relative i am 5' 6") and i need to lose a stone in total, with a 39" waist ( biscuit barrel shape) i want to lose 2" of my waist.
By nature i like a challenge so the 100 press up thing interst me especially as it seems to be tough. Doubt i could get there quickly because i seem to recall even in my younger army days when i was super fit it was always my Achilles heel, doubt i can even do 10 at this point. ( even more of a challenge for 53 year old afaik).
I used to be a runner, but lots of abuse to the knees in my Military career saw me pack that in, i have done a little bit of running over the years to try ease the stress put on them, but would be interested in a 10k or something in the future. ( I am based in Kent)
Bit of a ramble guys, but a great thread that has undoubtedly kept some of the bigger chaps on the task. ( even like some of the small fails, coz at the end of that day this is real life and shit happens).
Gl with your goals guys,
Steve

Hi all
Long time no posting this thread for me.
After the weight loss challenge I stayed at my target weight for a few months then over summer put on half a stone. A guy at work wanted to do a 'proper' run, so am doing a 10k on Sunday.
Strangely I put weight on whenever I get into the running, it goes on the gut too, think it to do with all the carbs needed.
Anyway, next week I will probs start another weight loss prop of sorts. Going to Vegas Nov 6th so will work out some sort of target based on what I weigh Sunday. Currently weigh between 15st2 and 15st4. Probs look at getting to 14st by Vegas

Ok so we have around 16 weeks till the new year and I'm keen to start another weightloss challenge. As discussed earlier in the thread I had a bet with a guy at work that I could lose 5st in 2012. I've done ok so far but have between 2.5 - 3st to lose after taking my eye off the game the last few months.
Whilst it will be tough for me I am positive. Since the first challenge I've increased my activity significantly, doing a 40 min walk everyday with the dog & cycling to work however after initially being really strict with food & more importantly drink more recently I've lost the drive, so I'm looking to my fellow fatties to get this back.
So I'm proposing another 2lb per week prop, I'm going to start us off at £10 per lb missed and would really love it if some others would get involved too!!
