Says I've only lost 2lbs. not happy with that.

I've had weeks in the past of 500 cals/day and lost 2 pounds.  Seems ridiculous and is very de-motivating when you are expecting more.  But, similar to run-bad in poker, it tends to work itself out and 4lbs just drops off from nowhere, so maybe just a weekly weigh-in would be better?  It definitely is helping me to forget about the scales.

if you were on 3 shakes a day, imo good plan would be to drop to 2, planning to drop to 1 and in time, none.  But rather than that being the end of the diet, you should still be planning to be losing weight after you drop the shakes.  That way, when you reach your goals, you will know exactly the food intake required to continue to lose weight and you can simply relax the numbers a bit to find a maintainable level when you are happy.  Stopping multiple shakes one day and eating the next does not work.  GL

My understanding is that it's an inherent problem with scales themselves.

There's no problem with a daily weigh in - as long as you only really 'care' about the weekly trend.

Have been making up food to take out with me each day to help me eat properly, usually a sandwich, fruit and a flask of coffee. As a side it will probably save me around £100 per month too as I normally spend at least a fiver a day on coffees and food.   Smiley

Haha I used to be absolutely terrible when I was playing out of my old mans office, instead of making my lunch at home and taking with I would always go out for something. Fish and Chips, McDonalds, Pasties etc.

Even now working at home the amount of times I would be on the phone to Dominos or the Chinese. Now the only takeaway I'll have through the week is Chicken Shish kebabs as they're about as healthy as you can get.

I should really put the money into a separate bank account every time that I would have ordered a takeaway in. I reckon I'd have a nice lump come the summer Cheesy

In the first few months scales are actually a bit of a handicap because the results can be skewed and that leads to disappointment. Measurements like inch loss and body fat % reduction are better indicators to show actual progress. In fact just looking in the mirror and asking yourself how you feel are good pointers to your progress. As you train in the gym you will put on a bit of muscle as you lose a bit of fat and because muscle weighs heavier than fat the actual scale result doesn't illustrate progress very well.

Importantly though as this process goes on the results become more obvious. As you train your body becomes more and more efficient at burning fat. So as you become stronger and more powerful it's like putting a bigger engine in your car. That bigger engine will need more fuel to drive it and that extra fuel comes from where? If you're not consuming extra calories it will come from body fat. Don't forget if you've been putting on body fat for say 10 years the process of training your body to do something completely different can't happen over night.

It's very important not to lose heart in the early stages chaps.

I wasn't going to get involved but I want to be in on the banter so I will if that's ok Cheesy

I weighed myself today and took a pic on my phone but it came out blurry, I tried again the same happened so I gave up I'll get my dad to take it while I'm stood on them tomorrow and try and work out how to post it send to Dr Milligan and get him to do it for me Cheesy

Not sure exactly what targets I've got atm so for the moment I'll say lose 2 stone by Vegas this summer which is June 24th and I was 16 1/2 stone last week. If the Dr manages to sort my legs out it should be a lot easier once I can get to the gym again, if not then it will be slower but w/e #keepthefaith

If I don't hit the 2 stone then I'll ship a ton to your charity Lee and the same to the Myelin Repair Foundation.

If I'm not the same weight or less on December 1st as I am on June 24th I'll ship the same (Again if that seems ok)
