The most important objective at the start of your gym membership is to just establish the habit of going, because that is the first step to a lifestyle change. A lot of people fly in with all guns blazing and try and achieve too much too quickly and lose the love very quickly. You hurt like hell the next day and hate the thought of going back anytime soon to slog away on the treadmill again. My advice would be to try and make the experience enjoyable so you look forward to return visits. Start with very light sessions, take yoga class, then nice relaxing spa session. Getting involved in a regular class creates a habit and relaxation makes future sessions something you look forward to. Once going to the gym becomes part of your life you can vamp up your physical objectives with a better chance of lasting success.
And what makes you so knowledgable about gyms?

Believe it or not, it was actually genuinely meant to help.
You can eat quite a lot, and some bad stuff, do fk all and not put on weight
I have been heavier (nearly 15st once but normally around 14st 4lbs ish, (when ever I went over 200lbs I used to rein things in a bit ) but I used to eat/drink a lot more
Think getting old helps you slow down the intake in general

Cos
You are missing my point!
You know how easy it is to not be motivated to go to the gym even with 1k riding on it
I'm not trollIng you, im just saying you of all should understand lack of motivation and understand why it might be there

Should have gone to the gym today but really cba. Need to work on that, prolly keeping a packed gym bag ready to go might help..
Really struggling with any exercise with week too, when I get my body clock back in sync maybe....... now this I don't get. you didn't sleep last night so it would've been the perfect time to get out and do some exercise. either go for run or a walk, you'd probably have found after that you could get to sleep too, 2 birds 1 stone and all that

Nando Thursday'sA tradition has started at work in which a few of us go out for a few pint and a nandos on Thursday. It's a social event I really enjoy, rather than knocking it on the head and being unhappy about it I've decided to modify behaviour so that I can still go but don't ruin my hard work from the rest of the week. I must say it has gone well, I explained to the lads I wouldn't be drinking so that's why I didn't get in the round and that I was watching what I ate due to my prop bet (which is now on btw £100 @ 6/1) Few diet cokes and a slightly modified nandos (no garlic bread ) meal and I'm happy. I also introduced a bit more fruit today. I had convinced myself that I didn't like fruit, in reality its pretty nice. Today looked like this Shreddies (smaller portion in prep for nandos) + apple Banana Chicken salad sandwich on whole meal bread Apple Nandos Think it's going well... Will see on Sunday!! Need to lose 5st this year now- sounds easy

Got my rowing machine out today, bought a Concept C about three years ago for about a grand and have only used it about 20 times and yet I love it, how lazy am I?
First exercise in a long time so I did an hour at a slow pace to get back into it, whilst watching an old series of biggest loser on Sky+, seeing them working so hard ensures I don't give in easily.
Going to Slimming World in the morning, they are doing 12 weeks for the price of 10 for £49.95 which will see me through to my holiday at the start of April whereby all my family are going away for my Dads 70th and want at least the two stone off by then ideally three.
