Hmmmm.... to say this years attempt has been a fail so far would be a bit of an understatement.  So starting afresh today, 5 weeks till I go to Vegas, aiming for 21lb loss in these five weeks.

Todays weight:   16st 0lb
Target weight:    14st 7lb

Yikes, Paul, that is a stern test, 21lb in 5 weeks.

If you are seriously overweight, 5lb or 6lb in week one is perfectly achievable, but it's tough to keep that rate up if you are to remain fit & healthy.

Good luck anyway.

Yep Tony it is tough, but that's kinda the point, have to really go for it for 5 weeks.
During last years challenge I had a similar slow start and had to lose 20lb in 5 weeks, I lost 21lb, so know it can be done.

Tighty, I bet you have lost off the stomach, just less to lose elsewhere so stomach still looks big. Like Guy said try measuring yourself, can be as simple as using a bit of string and marking off the new measurements.

I don't have any scales in the house so not weighed myself for a couple of week, but I will soon be moving in with Marky147 (seen as I am PM'ing him everyday lol), so I will be using his!

No Mcdonalds in one week, avoided picking up sweets and odd chocolate snack when around town, so plus points.

Start officially counting calories and daily intake is aimed at 1500 and not been above that for the last week either, so all is decent.

I just need to instead of eating less, eat more, but better better. However with that problem becomes the fact I can not cook & when I do it's crap (pasta, fries, chick dippers, fish fingers). I get rather scared of the cooker due to the fact I set the kitchen on fire a few months ago after putting cold water into a pan of fat to cool it down, you can guess what happened.

So hoping to try and learn how to cook proteins like Steak, Fish and so on. I would also worry about what to have with them apart from chips, Marky has already suggested sweet potatoes, but I hate them, so peas and carrots may be best suggestion.

You only need to know how to turn it on, open and close it.

You like chips, so sweet potato wedges are a good replacement... I'm not a big fan of potatoes beyond chips and roast myself, but I am happy enough with 100/150g of sweet potato wedges with my steak or homemade burger.

Don't cook with a pan of fat, and don't go to McDonald's at all, ever.

That would be a huge start.

I forgot to weigh yesterday did so this morning

-7,-4,-3 in three weeks for a stone off

I went to the football last night and through lack of planning didn't have much to eat before I left. Gnawed my way through my fingernails during the match rather than go for the burger/hot dog type concession options

Avoided a very real temptation to stop at every Motorway Service area on the way down and settled for a massive bowl of ceral at midnight

Which was probably the best I could do, in the self-inflicted circumstances

Winner!

A STONE in 3 weeks, that is incredible Rich, well done, & you seem to be in the groove now, last night proved that.

A stone, oooh!

It will settle down now to 2 or 3lbs a week, then taper off, but it's all bonus. 3 months of that & another stone & a half or more will disappear.

Yeh really chuffed to hit the 2 stone mark, the last few weeks been hard and i probably have strayed off the tracks a little here an there tbh.
Sort of in two minds what to do now tho, as the Mrs keeps saying that I shouldn't lose too much more. Would love to have the time and join a gym again but that's a NO atm. I have just bought a set of dumbells from Argoose for £25 and have the Cross Trainer so I guess there's no excuse for putting the weight back on or not getting in shape...

Think this is we're your best off too set goals and not do what I do, although I'm going to keep weighing in on a Wednesday and keep this thread updated.

There's no way I could of achived what I have without this thread, and all the Hero's that post are helpful and keep ya motivated...

Worse thing is I need to buy a new wardrobe. Sigh.  Wink
