Pujara fella looks a decent player. Hectors bet looks a very good sweat.

Are you sure it was hector's bet? I thought Pujura was my idea. I was deffo the first one to post a pic of Pujura on crutches.

That Walsall Bet.

After some overnight thoughtage, I decided it was worth investing a little more, so I have gone back & had another £30 @ 5/1 with BetVictor.

At present, this is on my own Account, not Fred.

If there is some warmth to move it across to the Fred Account, I'll happily do so, as it makes no difference to me personally either way.

I'd take it for the thread

Its a long term sweat, and looks to be a good spot. Might as well make it worth our collective watching while.

Interesting links today in multiple news outlets that Man City will go for Suarez in January

One journo in particular v closely associated with Man C, gives it some credibility

For our bet, if it were to transpire

Good- he'd get plenty of goal scoring opportunities

Bad - he might be in squad rotation, which he currently isn't

The Mission.

The BMW's tyres crunched on the frosty road as Tikay pulled up outside the Bet Cave. He stared at the house, unwilling to move. He had been putting off visiting Mere's abode for far too long and he was fearful for what he would now find. His hourly messages from his good friend had ceased long ago and it was  time to face him and find out why.

Using his spare key he opened the front door. There was a huge pile of mail and fliers on the floor that looked like they had been building up for months. Tikay was wishing he hadn't had his usual 4 hard boiled eggs for breakfast as his stomach started to contract. Fighting the urge to vomit he opened the living room door. The room was in darkness except for an eerie glow from the giant plasma screen showing the women's tennis. It was hard to see anything in the half light but the smell was overpowering, so much so that Tikay could taste it. Moving over to the curtains he drew them back and turned to survey the room.

There were takeaway cartoons of half eaten meals spread on all the surfaces. Around the lazy boy chair the pile of cartons reached up to the armrests. There were bottles everywhere, filled with a strange golden liquid. Picking his way through the detritus Tikay approached the chair and stared down into the emotionless face of his dear friend Mere Novice.

The total silence was  broken by a faint sound from the TV, " Time please " called the umpire, and the 2 young ladies raised their lithe bodies from their chairs to play the next game. As the camera focused in on one of them leaning forward to bounce the ball before serving, her breasts dominated the screen. Tikay noticed some movement, and not from the TV.  With the room filled with the sight of a  perfect decolletage, the corners of Mere's mouth turned upwards in a definite smile.

" Mere, you're alive " exclaimed Tikay. However there was no reaction, just the unrelenting stare at the TV. With his frustration boiling over Tikay picked up a tennis ball that was on the arm rest and threw it at the TV. Missing the TV by a wide margin it rebounded of 2 walls and headed towards Mere's head. Suddenly Mere's hand shot up grabbing the ball before it would strike him in the face. His arm lowered once more to the arm rest and he continued to stare.

Maybe it is not too late thought Tikay. With movement there is always a chance of life. He may never again be able to have an integral part in the Tips for Tikay thread but he should be able to play an active role in the Way of the nit thread.

But Tikay knew he would have to act quickly. He would need a plan if he was to succeed in his mission to cure MereNovice.

Lolz, 95% of the way through reading that post a strange feeling took over me, I suddenly realised that I was nearing the end of a hector post and hadn't noticed a subtle or what has become commonplace a not so subtle dig at my N!T thread yet, but alas, I was not to be dissapointed.

Enjoyed the mental image of Mere catching the tennis ball in an action hero fashion.

Test Series and the thread

It was always going to be a huge toss to win. England lost it. Looked to be a featherbed and so it proved. The big question was, would the relaid Ahmedabad pitch ultimately spin or, like the old pitches, stay flat and true?

Rob Key ‏@robkey612

What price for the ball to actually move off the straight for the seamers in this series. #featherbeds

Rob Key ‏@robkey612

Saying that it looks v dry. Could be ragging by day 3.

Well finishing on 323-4 India are well ahead. Even though from 134-0 England have dragged it back reasonably

Sehwag scored a flat track bully hundred up top and Pujara, showing fantastic technique carried it on

Swann bowled superbly but worryingly for England the ball spun to dismiss Kohli and both ends of the track are worn already. The pitch has already deteriorated

Michael Vaughan ‏@MichaelVaughan

Horse has bolted IMO... A draw from here for England would be huge...

Which is about right

Thread has £40 India at 11/8 and are now 8/11 best. I personally think India are nearer 1/2. Two spinners in this is huge and for England to bat second and fourth is nasty

Early days for the series bets, where 1-0 India is required

India 4-0 we have £20 at 14-1 and some are on at 20-1. Best price now 19-2

We have savers on 3-1 and 3-0, £10 on each at 12-1 and 7-1 respectively Best price now 8-1 and 3-1

Pujara top Indian bat looks to be a real runner. We have £20 at 7-1 and he finished Day 1 98*. Unflustered and should go on tomorrow He is into 5-1

Our Anderson top English bowler bet £25 at 4-1 looks to be in trouble with Swann taking 4 wickets, though again Early days. He looked the best of the England seamers, but the pitches are so unconducive

In general, much discussion about Panesar and the balance of the England side. Like last winter in the UAE, where Panesar didn't play the first test and was in for the second, expect the same again. bresnan went at over 5 an over and the mental block the England management seem to have about playing two spinners or five bowlers looks a problem out in India

As to Ian Bell, where we have £25 e/w at 8-1 on him as top Englisah series bat. We need him to go big here, ahead of him travelling home

Worryingly, there are no signs that one of the Indian Spinners is either pregnant, or associated with someone who is pregnant

Overall for thread, a promising start.

There is an argument to press on Pujara, India to win this and India 4-0 by the way.........

More confident on all three than 24 hours ago

India to win in Ahmedabad at 8/11, in particular, is too big

Enjoying the start of the India test series. Up at 8am, to follow the end of day play, over a long breakfast followed by plenty of Lavazza coffee. Perfect. Now some work to do!

Excellent cricket report Mr Tightend. Could you please avoid using that last orangey colour as us colour blind bods ( approx 9% of male caucasians ) have trouble reading it. TY

Daily Report as at 11.40am, Thursday November 15th   (covering 2 days)

No bets completed in the last 48 hours, so we remain on just under £900 profit for November so far.

We missed plenty, though, mostly winners, such is life.

Our powder has not been kept completely dry though, & we have placed a few hundred quid’s worth of future stuff, on Football, Cricket, & Darts, the last-named tonight.
