It is nice to have an impartial Scotsman ITT. I believe there could be a bit of ran in the morning but clear up for the match. I am happy with a bit of rain for the bet we did, but more rain would have been bad for the Wales to win by 13 or more. More importantly do we have anyone located near Dublin for a proper weather forecast for this evenings game ?

PTC Snooker next Tour event starts Tues, in Northern ireland

The draw is so lopsided it is eye-popping

1    Mark Selby       v       Jack Lisowski
2    Martin Gould       v       Tom Ford
3    Marco Fu               v       Mark Joyce
4    John Higgins       v       Allister Carter
5    Neil Robertson       v       Jamie Burnett
6    Barry Hawkins       v       Li Hang
7    Graeme Dott       v       Xiao Guodong
8    Judd Trump       v       Alfie Burden

so the top half has selby, trump, higgins and robertson. These would be the top 4 in the betting pre-draw

9    Ding Junhui       v       Andrew Higginson
10    Robert Milkins       v       Anthony McGill
11    Mark Allen       v       Mark Davis
12    Stephen Maguire       v       Joe Swail

the third quarter has Allen and Maguire, Ding Still much weaker than the top half

13    Rod Lawler       v       Cao Yupeng
14    Ken Doherty       v       Kurt Maflin
15    Ben Woollaston       v    Mark Williams
16    Stuart Bingham       v    Joe Perry

the final quarter is extremely weak. Lawler/Doherty and Williams who is out of form.Bingham beat Perry comfortably in Wales

Bingham again. check e/w odds to final. we have a run through to the semi's

check oddschecker

http://www.oddschecker.com/snooker/players-tour-championship/players-tour-championship-finals/winner

the top four in the market are in the same half of the draw. check

Ding, Maguire, Allen are the next three in the betting. they are in the same quarter. check

Bingham at 22-1 11-1 e/w to final with a run to the semi's that is unusually weak (next lowest odds in his quarter Wollaston 80-1)?

If Bingham can win his quarter we can back to get the stake back on his opponent at the semi

Provisional Rankings for Bingham's quarter

Bingham 9 (from 10)
Perry 18 (from 18)
Wollaston 33 (from 35)
Williams 11 (from 6)
Doherty 27 (from 31)
Lupeng 65 (was 65)
Maflin 66 (from 70)
Lawler 63 (from 66)

Recommend £20 e/w Bingham 22-1.

We are spending or investing money like water, but I can't resist that Rich.

We have £20 EW @ 22/1, BetFred, Stuart Bingham, PTC Snooker Finals.

I've been trying to find some value spots in our game today, before I head over to the Etihad to witness the carnage.

Considering that Barnsley are 25/1 to win with Pinnacle, this has been remarkably difficult, as I can't even honestly suggest a banzai at that price with any confidence.

Two spots for consideration though:

Chris Dagnall is 8/1 in the Anytime Goalscorer market with Ladbrokes, who are out of line with the other firms.  He'll probably play upfront for the full 90 and he'd be our likely penalty taker if we managed to get that far up the pitch, so there's probably a bit of value in a price that looks like a first or last goalscorer number:

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/fa-cup/man-city-v-barnsley/anytime-goalscorer

Also, much as I fear for the outcome if it happens, City leading after 15 minutes is 2/1 with Ladbrokes (the draw is favourite at 2/5).  The equivalent 30 minute price is 5/6, so the favouritism switches between 15 and 30 minutes.

We've started poorly in all our recent games since the MK Dons cup-tie and have conceded at the following times since then (most recent first):
Burnley (A) - 9 minutes
Bolton (H) - 15 minutes
Bristol C (A) - 16 minutes
Wolves (H) - 7 minutes

2/1 looks too big to me, given the relative gulf in quality, much as I want to say otherwise.

Technically, we're 90 minutes away from a Wembley semi-final but it feels a million miles away to me.  Hope I'm wrong, but a miracle today is too much to ask.  I'm just hoping for a respectable scoreline and maybe a chance to celebrate a goal.

I have had the Dublin weather on my second monitor all morning

8 degrees forecast for game time

Precipitation:50%
Wind speed :18mph

The second source gives wind of 12 mph and 75% chance of rain

ice-cream question time

Henderson is 4/6 Top Cheltenham trainer

I am looking for a sporting alternative for interest

Nicholls is 10-1 in a spot, I gather edit 9-1

Is that an interesting price, or who would you suggest as an alternative?

thank you

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/racing-specials/long-term/cheltenham-festival/top-trainer

this got missed, or else no one cares

any views please?

If it is value, I care!

I need help on it though.

market has been up a while

for the bet to cop nicholls is going to have to probably win at least a couple of handicaps (his hand in the big 4 races is weaker than usual)

thank you

Is there any value anywhere in the top trainer market? (I might just be having addiction problems)

I have no idea tbh have not looked in detail

For anybody other than henderson, mullins or nicholls to win though looks almost impossible (as market says)

FWIW, based on his team I would rather be on Mullins at 15/8 than the Chemist at 4/6. I would have had them at the same price. Mullins ultra deep this season.

Whilst looking for Gonzaga's fixture, I chanced upon these NCAAB Teams, all playing tonight. Daft names, daft hats, we have the lot.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Purdue Boilermakers

Syracuse Orange

Iowa State Cyclones

South Carolina Gamecocks

Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns.

Massachusetts Minutemen

Nebraska Cornhuskers

Oregon Ducks

Southern Methodist Mustangs

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Marshall Thundering Herd

New Mexico Lobos

William & Mary Tribe

Some good ones there to be sure Tikay, yep we start our postseason tonight against Loyola Marymount who many years ago produced one of the most emotional postseason runs after their best player and the country's leading scorer and rebounder Hank Gathers died of a heart attack mid way through a late season game. his best Friend since childhood Bo Kimble then led them to an improbable run to the last eight of the NCAA tourney where he shot his first free throw in every game left handed in honour of his friend who was so woeful at the line that he had taken to shooting with his left to try and improve. Always had a soft spot for them and it looks as though they are doing something remarkable again as after winning only 1 regular season game they have now won three games in as many nights it's the win or go home mentality which makes this time of year so exciting in college basketball. Having said all that we should win by about 30.

Cracking story that, moony, love that sort of stuff.

I did have a good look at that Zags game tonight, and it worried me a bit that Loyola have suddenly hit form, but try as I might, I could not find a price for it on Oddschecker.

Anyway, a 30 point win it is.

Good luck us.

Please try and stick the result up for us in the morning in case I miss it.

Great story indeed.

How does the post season work moon?

Is it a straight knockout competition through to the finals, or do they play best of 3/5/7 games?

Just to be clear whilst tonight is the start of the post season conference championships etc if Gonzaga got beat tonight they wouldn't be out because they will get an at large bid to the tournament proper which starts next Thursday.  After that it is a knockout but if, as seems likely, they get a #1 seed then they will play a #16 seed first then a #8 seed etc etc so we should at the very least get a decent sweat.  Fwiw on the nicknames they aren't widely used in college sports and even though I have booked and bet on college sports for nearly ten years I only know a handful and think that is the case for most US sports fans.

Thanks Stu.

#1 seed it is.

A little tongue in cheek obv but dont know if you noticed in the Racing Post yesterday that they put up "Walsall to be promoted" as a selection @ 20/1 Ladbrokes and wondered if we should take a chance on MY selection of Walsall to be relegated that has seen them win 10/14 games since we played?

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-1/promotion

Maybe £3 for stake back obv the middle then loses us £63

How VERY DARE YOU show your face in here!

Walsall to be relegated, my arse.

Good money after bad if you ask me.

Just had a look at the table and they are two off the play offs.  They are on way better form than the two teams above them.  I can easily see them creeping in the play offs.  20/1 seems like some value to me and I am taking some.

Of course we would have to put them in a double with Huddersfield relegation for japes.

From window I spotted 3 ponchos, 2 brollys and interestingly 1 pair of shorts....it is picking up! I should never doubt hector, it is baltic though!  Also interestingly the stip club accross the road is open at 1.45pm and has a free wing buffet, Happy Saturday Everyone
