betfair saying woods is gone

massive drift last few minutes

Is it just everyone panicking? Still can't believe they'll do it.

Could be either!  They penalised the 14 year old kid.  They can do it.

This is Tiger Woods at the Masters, tho. Doing him for spitting in a tour event is one thing and singling out a 14 year old amateur when everyone is taking 6 hours is far easier than DQing Tiger.

Is doesn't matter who you are if you sign for an incorrect scorecard which is what his offence will be if he should have incurred another two-shot penalty for dropping his ball in the wrong place.

Roberto de Vicenzo actually "won" the Masters by one shot but signed his card for a "four" on one hole where he actually made a "three" and that had to stand as you are allowed to accidentally sign for more shots but not less.

The rules of golf are very strict when it comes to scoring.

He should be disqualified, if I'm understanding the rules and the events correctly, but I really don't see it happening.

Not sure he'd want to win an asterisked major, but that seems more likely to me than him not teeing off this afternoon.

If Tiger gets 'd I'm retiring from sportsbetting. Doncaster now a pick'em with Bournemouth too, not the best of news. Might lay something off after this weekend but I doubt I'll be recommending anything for Fred. Sheff United down the pan as predicted but Bournemouth back from the dead. 3 games 3 wins and a happy camper here hopefully.

Woods drifting to 7 on betty.

When do we think he is value ?

If they do not disqualify him then he will be back to 4.5

Wow. He still seems to be 3/1 with the Bookies.

It is a totally different market tho Tony to the BF one now. If you back him on BF now and he is 'd then you lose your money.

If you bet him with the firms now and he is 'd then you will get your money back. Best way to think if it is you are betting him 'with a run' with the fixed odds firms.

reputable firms ( well I know one) will refund stakes on him placed after the second round had completed too, using that point as the time he would no longer have been able to win the event as signing for his card means they cannot add the 2 shot pen on now. If they had investigated before he signed then they could have added the pen on then.

Gotcha now, thanks.

What excitement.

If the Rules say he should be disqualified, I have no complaint, Golf Rules are sacrosant, but I rather hope he is not.

I thought Round One was a little flat, but Round 2 was amazingly good I thought, & Woods was part of the reason. Watching Tiger at his imperious best is not an opportunity to be wasted, whatever we may think of him as a person bloke.

Personally I hope he stays in the event so I can get him beat fair and square :-).

Firms will be hoping he gets thrown out to knock out the biggest lib so will be a coup for them. It's a funny spot coz if he goes I am going to be refunding all bets placed on him from the end of rd 2 onwards. What that means is I have been trading that market to 128% ish since last night and 27 and a bit % is going to be given back. So ive basically had the whole new market out at 101% On the 'new' book since last night until the news broke if he gets thrown out.

Punters that backed someone else will have had a coup too if he does get thrown out.

Sky Bet ‏@SkyBet 3m
Tiger Woods to be disqualified was a 50/1 special before the Masters started, but only one customer took up our offer. Quids in?

proof if ever needed that a big price is not value even if it does cop Smiley

And obv as punters now the prices on the other runners have got shorter to allow for the fact that a big chunk of % might be removed. So it's not ideal because for example Day will be about 6/1 chance with Woods in the field and about 9/2 fav if woods is out. so by betting any of the others now we are taking a middling kind of price between what price he would be if Woods was out and what he would be if he was in and Woods is still in at the same price he would be anyway, coz if you back him and he gets thrown out you get the stake back. so it  isn't a very attractive market coz we are all guessing, which is a shame really.

Tremendous early news for the Middlesex £50 e/w at 7-1

they have beaten second title favourites Notts by 10 wickets

Rogers also scored over 100 runs in the match

Yesterday, unaware of my views, the editor of Wisden (name drop), Lawrence Booth (name drop) told me

"Middlesex are going to finish top three this season and if the weather breaks their way they might win it"

--

Elsewhere on a reputedly spicy pitch Up North, Durham look like beating Somerset with Onions and the seamers at the fore. This would be a setback to the Durham/bottom bet, but Durham are a tough side on green wickets

---

Northants are being delayed by the weather in Cardiff, with Glamorgan otherwise struggling to hold on to a draw...which again would be a blow as Northants have dominated the game

--

Hampshire are being delayed by the weather in Southampton, where this is the only impediment to a victory, which would be galling

-
In the IPL Mumbai are currently playing Pune. We have both sides, so its glass half full/half empty whoever wins this game

Genuine screen shot from Betfair this morning.

I recommend backing Tiger at 7.6 for the maximum and laying him at 3.9 for the same amount. Cheesy

tiger definately took an illegal drop and if he isn't disqualified then I will never watch golf again in fact he should disqualify himself the rules are for everyone I would lay woods for the entire bank.

I agree with Moon. The rules of golf may be archaic but they have always been followed to the letter at all times. If they decide to let this go because its Tiger and because its the Masters, it would be a complete farce and do way more harm than good to the game IMO. He has to get 'd.
