I feel I've been playing the role of Wilson from Home Improvement this week when it comes to Fred: on the other side of the fence to the rest of the world.

So, I've decided wholeheartedly to endorse and support Fred's bet on the Baggies to boing the CESMs in the field of crataegus monogyna tonight.

There's a thing - you AND Methuselah both on the same side of the Arsenal fence for once. Wink

Thanks Ralph.

We never made a decision on your original suggestion to get against Arsenal here. Do you still hold the same view?

WBA are currently 11/4 best, 5/2 generally.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-cup/west-brom-v-arsenal/winner

I still think that 5/2 or better is very good value and I can't see it lasting.

Obviously there's no guarantee that West Brom won't field an even weaker team and some of those Arsenal kids are really good but I honestly think WB will play close to their best eleven which ought to be good enough tonight.

Well its you & me versus the field Ralph, as there has been little comment. We've got every League Cup selection wrong so far, so bugger it, we'll dabble.

Amazingly, best Priced Bet365 allowed me £18.18, so I jumped in & MAXED with them.

We have £18.18 @ 11/4, Bet365, WBA to beat the mighty Arsenal tonight.

I'm pretty sure Doooobs endorsed it earlier in as much as he said that he too was on WBA and I was fairly certain that Tal's support could be counted on.

On the matter of League Cup games, Man U are out to 13/10 at home to beat Liverpool tonight.

I've had a bit myself, because I think there HAS to be a backlash after Sunday, but Fred is not on.

playing the role of Tal for a minute Smiley

Is it wise to be having so many bets in league cup games? Pretty sure most of the team news is in the price in most cases

Thread has been in my opinion quite rightly happy to not get to involved in the early domestic games, now has 6 bets in the league cup in a few days?

Probably not, I think I've been a bit trigger-happy this week. The prices are like sticky buns, they look so damn good in the window, but really, they are no good for us.

Live & learn.

Having said that, I still very much think Man U @ 13/10 is like a triple layer chocolate eclair. Mmmmmmmmm

Do any of the golfing elders know which firms (except BF) will price up "First Round Leader" for the Dunhill Links or will they price it up by course (as a couple have) due to the 3 different course nature of the tournament?

I think the 11/4 WBA is an excellent price.
Arsenal are ravaged by injuries and West Brom manager Steve Clarke has said he's taking this seriously so we can expect a strong lineup.
As for the information being in the price, well, yes and no. Bookies price things up according to information AND where the money goes. And the ice cream money sees Arsenal and throws them into their 9 team accumalator. According to Oddschecker, 66% of the bets are on Arsenal at a shade better than even money.
Are a WBA near full strength side true 11/4 shots against a combined Arsenal reserves and youth team? They can't be, imo. More like 2/1 shots, I think.
We'll see.

Interesting differences in the price on Doncaster to beat Wednesday on Saturday which I posted yesterday.

I've just topped up my bet on Donny as it's at 11/4 now with BV - some bookies are as low as 15/8.

This was another one that I awaited views on.

Anyone else have an opinion?

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/sheffield-wednesday-v-doncaster/winner

Both similar rated teams (similar prices from promotion/relegation) and results / performances so far pretty much back that up (Donny been done by a couple of late goals at decent sides could arguably see them as slightly better than results).
The game is priced up as them being reasonably evenly matched.

The OP mentioned Sheff Wed not playing for the manager, and couple that with Donny being new to the Championship, and likely to improve slightly then 11/4 looks like value, and current best 13/5 is probably still a bet.
Wouldn't be touching anything below 5/2 though.

Good to see you here, & thanks for the feedback.

Tikay,

I would suggest you back Doncaster to beat Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, best price 13/5 with BetVictor, say £20?

I have commented before but Wednesday are truly woeful. They are playing only one recognised striker, there is no creativity and a key player at centre half, Antony Gardner is injured.

The players confidence is gone and Dave Jones seems to have lost them. They look like frightened rabbits in the headlights playing at Hillsborough.

I dont think the bookies realise just how bad they are. I know you will say the bookies know the results etc but 13/5 is excellent value. I think they have misjudged home advantage - there is no home advantage for Sheffield Wednesday right now.

By all accounts Doncaster are playing well and have Macheda from Man Utd up front who scored 2 in their last game and I believe its value.

I expect Donny's price to drop before Saturday.

Much warmth for this, so we have had a wee bet.

£25 @ 13/5, BetVictor, Donny to beat Sheff Weds, this Saturday.

Good to hear.

Nottingham?

Yes, I'll be there shortly, as I have a meet scheduled with Mr Y to discuss some Next Door stuff, & of course I'll be there for the Grand Final, though whisper it quietly, I may need to slip away on the Saturday evening.

Hope all is good with you & yours.
