Dundee was 58% yes I believe. Does that mean we're independent?

Chompy - what are your views on Notts Country this season?  I see they are dogs at home to Oldham on Saturday which surprised me.  I certainly don't think they are one of the no hopers in the division.

They shut up shop very well against Posh last week. If they start scoring at home then they could well raise a few eyebrows. For any team to be that price at home in League One this year is stand out. Everyone can beat everyone in this league which makes Gillingham (H) to Walsall, County and Colchester (H) to Bradford stand out prices.

Also hate to say it but Yeovil at 2/1 to beat Posh this weekend. Will punt on that to claw my money back for the train fare should we lose.

Oooh County are also 9/4 with Sly Bet for a top half finish.

How did Fred do with that Scottish vote thing?

haha - I remember that part of the show - the yes/no game.  We were easily pleased in those days.

What? Best TV "quiz" ever.

How did you get here?

By train

Train?

Yes

BONG

And if the Guest managed a whole minute without saying "yes" or "no", they won FIVE POUNDS.

We'd nearly wet ourselves with excitement.

I'm surprised there isn't more on youtube

If they ran it today, the contestant would have to last a week without saying Yes or No and they'd turn up on Saturday to be shown secret footage of them being accosted by actors and stooges, trying to get them to utter the magic words.

Obviously, if successful, the contestants would get some utterly preposterous sum of money like a hundred thousand.

I'm thinking John Barrowman if BBC and Keith Lemon if ITV.

Like them. Backed them to be top midlands club pre-season but Chesterfield and Coventry might just have too much in hand.

Imagine if Shaun Derry was a team, and you're there.

Alan Smith and Gary Jones are a good partnership. Smith fouls everyone every time the ball comes near and is very good at it.

Like Notts top half far more than Yeovil to beat Poshies at around the same price. Think Kozzy will be back at left-back tomorrow, which is a big difference-maker.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/everton-v-crystal-palace/anytime-goalscorer

Dwight Gayle at 5/1 £10 anytime goalscorer suggestion with betfare sportsbook.

Think Everton will be pressing all game and leaving themselves susceptible to the counter that Palace are normally good at, with the pace of Puncheon, Bolasie, Zaha and Gayle. Also last season the wing backs of Everton, Baines and Coleman really struggled against Bolasie and my view is they will struggle against Zaha too. I really hope Bolasie gets the nod to start.

Gayle plays so much better with space in behind and struggles a lot more in games like Burnley at home where Palace are in the odd situation of playing against a team that sits back themselves. Such an instinctual finisher normally, and think this is the sort of game he could thrive in.

Everton conceded 8 in their last two home games. Granted against Arsenal and Chelsea, but it does attest to a leakiness, that is hopefully evident on Sunday.

5/1 is standout and think it's value here. Like the anytime over first time just because there could be a lot of goals in this game. Also Warnock has publicly backed Gayle to start more games, and think he is now our no.1 striker and will be good at least for the first 75 mins imo.

Not suggesting the lay of Everton or Palace win as our defence is not quite like it was last season yet and it may not be at all this season.

Also don't think the price will remain until before KO.

although i put it up at 50s, i still think beardsley at 40s is good value.

if ashley wants to sell the club soon he needs as much good press as possible, he will think hiring a club legend will be a way to go, even thoguh it wouldn't satisfy most.

shouldn't 1/4 be 1/10 for those who like a shortie?

May as well try and make it third time lucky.

Recommend Jack Payne first goalscorer York v Southend

Felt like not posting this but would have been incorrect to do so as nothing has changed and it is still a value bet.

The reasoning is exactly the same as my post on monday for Jack to score the first goal at Cheltenham. The only very slight difference is Southend are roughly 1% less likely to be the team who scores the first goal and thus making Jack marginally less likely to be first goalscorer.

Should have stated that is at 20-1 with fred, hills, coral

third time lucky

20 Sep 2014 - York v Southend - First Goalscorer
Tip It

Jack Payne @ 20/1
