Never heard Azinger talk before but sticking with BBC after listening to him for first 30 mins
The difference between the coverage on BBC and Sky Sports is chalk and cheese. Stuck to BBC tonight, far superior IMO.
Agreed, obviously Alliss wins overall, thought Azinger comment was really strong, actually had something to say rather than usual churning out of cliches - I find Nick Faldo the same for whatever US TV he works for, really good. The sky guys are just on repeat, and don't get me started on Livingstone, how he has that job is beyond me
I don't know why Sky waste money on commentators, the US guys are fine imo.

Agreed, although I don't think the BBC used them either, they stuck to their in-house team, who were excellent.
BBC showed 4.5 hours of uninterrupted coverage, in the same 4.5 hours Sky Sports, net of ad breaks, & the intros & outros to them, showed less than 3 hours.
Really enjoyed it last night, & whilst I hope the young boy gets home, (what a talent he is), he might yet have a fight on his hands.

Don't worry about that Peter, variance will always weave it's magic, & there'll be no complaints from the lads here, who all understand that.
An interesting race, I thought, rather than exciting.
Most of our season bets did OK too, I think. Our total McLaren points bet remains in excellent shape, especially.

I think some of the beeb guys work for the US golf channel when they do euro events. The only standout in the Sky team is Wayne Riley, who actually says whether a shot is hard or easy before the club is swung, unlike the grating negative aftertiming of Mark Roe, for example.

Morning Mr T.
Very interesting sport everywhere at the moment. Regarding Peter Allis and his commentary. Did you hear him call Dustin Johnson, Dustin Hoffman? He really has to go but at least he is not talking about all his dying friends, he is saving them up for the Open.
The Monte Carlo tennis starts today and this will be the first clay courter where the big guns are playing. I can't see an outright bet but I will look at the individual matches daily. Maybe Larry can find an outright.
In today's rugby league there is a fascinating match between Salford and Leeds. Had Rangi Chase been playing I would have backed Salford to win, and they may still do. I think it will be a low scorer and the drop goal at 7/2 is good. However the bet I will propose is to go again with Ben Jones Bishop as first try scorer. He is the leading try scorer on the pitch with 7 this season and he is playing against his old club. I thought he was treated very badly by Leeds as I think he is a far better player than Tom Briscoe. Also Ryan Hall, who would have marked him, is out and there is a very young replacement.
Suggest £10 BJB first try @ 11-1 with Ladbrokes.

Wowzer, well done everyone who contributed.
Yesterday's main profit came from 2 sports - horse racing & football, &, I think, at least 3 contributors - Adzy for the 33/1 shot in the National, one of our biggest ever wins, Chomps (I assume) for the Posh Manager bet, & either Ant or Doobs (sorry, I forget which) for the Palace stuff.
Even better, many of our season bets on Football & Basketball are in wonderful shape, big thanks to those who put them up, so a decent lump of profit is still in reserve.
We have now topped £6,000 profit for the first time ever, & our ROI stands at 4.38%, over a 4,629 bet sample size. Not many can manage that at poker or punting.
Fred is a wonderful Freeroll for everyone thanks to the hard work of so many, so it behoves us all to look after it.

Ha, yes, I did.
He looked positively rebellious against The Masters hierarchy yesterday, being dressed in short sleeves, no jacket, & cheerfully inappropriate red braces. I think he expects to be made redundant by the Beeb very soon, so is having a bit of sport with them.
He certainly divides attention, as he gets more & more quirky in his old age. I can understand why he grates on some, but I thoroughly enjoy his musings. ETHO & all that, eh?

Anyone who hasn't seen this, this morning, really should:

One guy knows he's been beaten all weekend by a better driver who has exploited fairly obvious tactics to lock up a win from grid to flag, but hates it. The other guy is revelling in both his victory and the other's visible toysoutofprammery.
Reminded me of this:

Back to work chaps.
Liking Trustan Times in the Scottish version of the National next weekend. Ran third in it last year, and has been aimed at it again all year, with the usual red herring runs along the way.
Everything in the race that has a chance with recent form with him, he is better off at the weights against.
I suggest we have a few bob on now as Mr Nutting from SL will no doubt do so at some point, and the price will drop. He started 10-1 last year. ( If he has done already, I apologise for any plagerism, but I couldn't find that he had, and in any case, I fancy it anyway!
)
General 16-1. Lets keep it sensible for Fred and have £10 ew
I also think we should have a very speculative £5 on biggest price we can find on Edmund Keane. Looked to be running into form last time, and little birdies tell me Mr Bowen is quite keen to get him into the race. The really big prices have gone but a fiver at 33s or the small amount betty has at slightly bigger, won't harm. Then we hope he gets in!! GL
