They have both won the premier league 3 teams. Jose has 2 FA cups with 1 League cup. Wenger has won the FA Cup 6 times.
I'd say Wenger has the better record even though it's been over a lot longer period.
Chelsea have won the Champions League and Europa League in resent years but not under Team Jose.

Isn't that more to do with the club than Wenger.
Of course over a 19 year period because there's no one else but SAF so he's second out of 2.
I'd certainly argue a case for Jose being in front of him. More success in a shorter time frame.
I think Wenger has under achieved hugely in his tenure but that's just my opinion.
To a point, yes - the Club don't change Managers every time they lose two in a row, don't panic buy at daft prices, they took the view "Trust in Wenger", & they have been proven right. Changing Managers every season, when the investment behind a Manager - coaching set up, philosophy, long term planning - all cost so much makes no sense.
Newcastle employed Team Allardyce a few seasons ago, & he took his entire retinue with him. 5 minutes later, him, & all his assistants, were down the road. How much you reckon that cost, even ignoring "lost opportunity"?
Short-termish makes no sense to me. Same at your Club - they gave Moyes the impossible task of replacing SAF. At the very least, they should have given him 5 years. Instead, they booted him out, & appointed Mr Dutch Bloke who went & spent x hundred million, some of which went straight down the plughole.

I think Arsene is a victim of his own loyalty sometimes.
Ospina did a really good job for us last season after claiming the #1 spot from Szczesny and his stats. were among the best in the league, consequently I think AW would have felt it unfair to only play him in the Carling Cup as a reward for his good service over the last year.
Ospina's howler aside conceding three goals at home to Olympiakos is ridiculous.
I heard Wenger being quizzed about this, he seemed to hint he had a good reason to do it. And he must have, he's not a fool, he's the 2nd most successful Manager in EPL history, behind only SAF.
Do you think he would have been better actually explaining it rather than hinting? Maybe the fans deserve an explanation?
Nope. It may have been something he (or Cech) wished to keep private. Discretion & all that.
The fans don't have a right to know what is going on at their club? Why the manager is picking a second rate (compared to cech) goalkeeper?
Someone said many years ago, football with the fans is nothing. He wasn't wrong.

Nope. The customer at Tesco has no right to know why the Manager of Fruit & Veg is not in today, it's none of their business.
The Managers of EPL teams are obliged to give Media Interviews pre & post game in return for wheelbarrows full of money from the EPL & CL, but let's not kid ourselves, they only pay lip service.

The manager at tesco would have to give answers to his customers if they had paid thousands in advance for the year expecting to get the finest products available when they turned up for their shopping, and not some rotten old fruit because it was decent last year, so it'll maybe do for this year.

And if I went to a shop and constantly got served rotten stuff, without a reasonable explanation, I'd soon stop going.

If Arsenal were able to sign Lewandowski in January do you think they would win the league and would the fans would be happy with Wenger?

You're assuming that wenger would pick him.

they'd be 25-30 goals a season less giroud's goals closer
(then add a commanding centre back, a world class defensive midfielder)
i think a lot of fans would be happier with Wenger if the cash mountain was £50m not £200m and he wasn't so flipping stubborn
that may or may not be logical but many fans don't want to be stuck in 4th-5th, last 16 CL and with a glass ceiling on progress yet with £200m in the bank!

Why do people think someone else could just miraculously replace Wenger at Arsenal then win the league like it's that easy to topple city and chelsea. What will this new manager who nobody can name do better exactly?
Honestly this conversation only ever comes up when Arsenal hit a bad patch. And they've lost ONE game!! We were sick against Leicester on Saturday fgs. Arsenal play the best football in the league at times.

yeah. but this is close to impossible so there's no real point even debating it.

not exactly
koscielny was skinned by vardy twice
leicester defended like U11s
if beating leicester is enough to keep arsenal fans happy, then things really have slipped
conceding 3 goals at home to anderlecht, monaco, olympiakos
never beating chelsea or man c...
i don't think there is a magic wand that brings klopp, ancelotti or guardiola in at some stage and automatically arsenal take the next step. in fact whoever succeeds wenger has a tough job.
however wenger is 65 and stuck in his ways with demonstrable blind spots. what is the succession plan?

Do you really think armchair football fans, armed with their vast knowledge of managing football clubs, & equipped with a monster-sized rear view mirror, would EVER be happy with team selection, transfer policy & hows yer father of the team they support?
You can't run (successful) football clubs via a Fans Committee.
