£50m for sigurdsson just about sums up how crazy transfer fees have become. Great player, but that's insane. Hopefully we see a fair bit of Nacho this season, another top signing. Realistically what are you lot aiming for this season? Europa League? Top 10 and a crack at a trophy?

top 10.

if it all went very well Europa League

mid reachesof the table  likely to be hugely competitive

Yep a lot of teams throwing around crazy sums of money now, which I suppose you've got to do just to keep up! This season could be a wake up call for a few owners who are a bit weary to open up the cheque book!

With my fantasy football hat on, and should the deal conclude of course, how much game time does Nacho get at Leicester....

Assume Vardy won't be warming the bench, so does that put Nacho in direct competition with the Japanese fella and Slimani for the support striker role? Musa and Ulloa likely to be out the picture?

I don't know

he couple play up top alongside vardy in a 4-4-2

he could play behind him in a 4-4-1-1 (Okazaki role)

he could play wide in a 3 in a 4-2-3-1

or he could be on the bench

slimani is meant to be going, Musa too.

Strangely they appear to want to offer Ulloa a new contract

Can't see him playing wide or behind the main striker. He's reminds me of Wilfried Bony in that his movement is economical but his strength and finishing is excellent.

All bar one of these from inside the box, straight in front of the goal: https://youtu.be/FUt-UyNj9wE

Yeah basically this.

As good a prospect as he is, I think part of the reason Pep is content to let him go is that he isn't particularly versatile up top. Great as a focal point of attack, but not sure he's much use either out wide in a 3 or in behind someone else. He's still young so maybe he could be moulded into a more fluid forward, but he needs the game time for that and he was never gonna get in ahead of Jesus/Sane/Aguero etc at City.

Up front with Vardy could work well as Vardy loves the channels and the leg work, leaving Nacho more central and camped in the 18 yard box where his predatory skills are at their best. Not sure if that might leave an imbalance further back though?

The irony of me discussing imbalance, when Man City have no full backs, no defensive midfielders and 85 attackers, isn't lost on me Smiley

Huth out for 8 weeks so still chasing Smalling or Gibson

Mahrez goes by the end of August, Gray gets his run

back five is easy

Schmeichel

Simpson
Morgan (Huth is inj)
Maguire
Fuchs (Chilwell gets more playing time)

Vardy up top is easy

the uncertainty comes in midfield

I guess Iborra and Ndidi in fromt of the back four

Albrighton and Gray out wide (assumesMahrezis sold)

that leaves the number 10 spot, where he could play a third CM, away from home maybe (Drinkwater) or a support striker (Okazaki) or a second striker, morelikely at home ( Slimani or Iheanacho when he arrives)

so

Schmeichel

Simpson Morgan Maguire Fuchs

Iborra Ndidi

Gray/Mahrez Drinkwater(?) Albrighton

Vardy

for Arsenal away?

squad

Jankupovic, Hamer
Chilwell,Huth,Benalouane, Amartey
King, James, Mendy (off?)
Slimani (off?),Ulloa, Okazaki, Musa (off?), Lawrence (off?)

Iheanacho to come

and some very good youngsters Barnes, Moore,Elder etc piossibly headed out on loans to the championship

Iheanacho  is going to be a great signing and one that could be " we missed out there "  could be top goalscorer punt whether he ends up  ..I think they will pay him and Vardy together

defense looks suspect without Huth and an aging King...who is Maguire ? the guy from Hull ?

One thing I notice ...Vardy, Ozaki,Mahrez,Gray, Iheanacho  are all very light weight ? what do you think not much muscle in the squad ?

Maguire is a good player, footballing left sided centre back

we've tried to buy ben gibson, jonny evans and smalling so guess we might get him a partner before the end of august and properly move on frommorgan/huth

andy king isn't a defender,and isn't old and is a squad player

Iborra is a unit, going to really help us at set pieces both end of the field. Ndidi is good in both boxes too.those two with two central defenders gives us plenty of height

in general set pieces aside we are a counter attacking side, quick transition back to front and play vardy on the last man.

Man City insist on £50m buy-back option as Kelechi Iheanacho moves to Leicester City in £25m deal

(a glorified loan then)

Iimagine this is what it was like when people saw the Beatles crossing the Abbey road?

Mahrez, Gray,Vardy, Ihenacho played together last night

Vardy up top, the other three behind in a 4-2-3-1

blimey it was dangerous. pace and trickery

it won't last long i suppose before mahrez leaves but corrrrrr

No conte wants him. at £32m fine. Drinkwater currently fourth choice behind ndidi, iborra, james. I like him but we'll take that money and reinvest
