Sweet. Pubs etc open no later than July 4th according to the PM.
Seems clear based on earlier briefing, that he was meant to say no earlier.

Yes, obviously It's still a stupid fuck up though. And neither of his lackies even corrected him.

Very first question and they've not answered it. They've waffled around it a bit and common sense might say the answer is obvious but they've not actually answered the specific question asked.
Car crash of a press conference. Not adding anything to yesterday - this petty detail about who you can meet, where and when is all a bit academic without the bigger plan elements about controlling the spread getting explained better

We are in trouble.
We know that and can agree and disagree on the severity of any mistakes made, but I am pretty staggered at the communications on this.
The guidance on going back to work has changed 3 times in 24 hours (Monday, then Wednesday, now its talk to your bosses to enquire when?) those who can't work from home?

I didn't watch many of the conferences before Boris got ill, and he seemed okay in the couple I did see.
But if he was like this in those earlier ones I can see where the criticism was coming from.
Almost everyone who took the press briefings in his place would usually be seen making notes on the question and then give a broadly direct answer (allowing some leeway for having to think of the answer effectively as they're speaking it).
Johnson looks like someone who doesn't take notes, hasn't got a huge amount prepared before hand and just has the strategy of waffling around on the fly while potentially forgetting what the question was to start with.

So Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland are to stay at home. Sounds more like the World Cup finals!

Awful, pointless exercises these things. Whitty was a long way off his a-game but was still the pick of the bunch. Literally learned nothing from it.

Seemed to me that Witty and Valance were happy to back the scientific reasoning on a slow loosening of the lockdown but wanted to distance themselves from the communications message.

Lots of pieces of information, plus anecdotal stuff, pointing towards care homes being the area which was neglected / not recognised for the high risk area it is / completely mismanaged, & consequently the biggest tragedy of all of this. Hope that's not the case.
