Bit disappointing Tom. Bit like me saying there is a Gypsy family in our area and the kids bike has went missing, it must have been them.

Geo

Not the same thing at all actually Geo.

The husband/boyfriend is always the prime suspect, and my observations were not based on the fact that the boyfriend belonged to any particular race, creed, or ethnic minority.

As it happens, they were based on the fact that, as far as I knew, the boyfriend didn't report her missing for several days. Yes I know that he was visiting his parents, but who doesn't phone his girlfriend while he's away?

If I'm honest, I'm a tiny bit disappointed that you drew that comparison.

Not realy true that about the husband/boyfriend being the prime suspect, which highlights the point I was trying to make. Yes they may be the first to be interviewed, but that doesn't make them a prime suspect. Due to a few high profile cases, the media created the myth that most murders are committed by spouse/boyfriend types. Maybe a poor comparison but I wouldn't have had you down as one to be swayed by media guff.

I know 2 people who suffered greatly from just that sort of mindset when they lost someone close to them. One who was hounded for 9 months until the person responsible was actually arrested and the other who committed suicide, their partners killer never having been caught and despite the police saying otherwise, was consistently hounded by people who had the same "must have been the husband" attitude.

Wouldn't surprise me if the boyfriend of this lass has already suffered more than just the loss of his girlfriend because others are of the same thinking.

Fair enough Geo, and I do take your point. But it's still not the same as blaming someone because of their ethnicity.

Point taken also Tom, probs not made it clear, it wasn't neccessarily an ethnicity point I was making, more on the side of  - you are - so you must have - if that makes any sense

Keep waiting.....I am hampered by not only my small brain but a very big cold.

Can someone explain why it is that you have a restless night feeling terrible and can't sleep and then can sleep during the day? it doesn't make any sense?

Bottle of Night Nurse FTW!!!  I was having the same problem with a couple of weeks running and decided to give Night Nurse a go after someone suggested it.  Had two decent nights sleep in a row!

Just seen a "Quit smoking" advert on TV

"If you make it through the first week, you're 9 times more likely to succeed"

Eh?

More likely than what?

Happy New Year.

So now that the "noughties" are over are we into the "teenies"?
