Put in a £1/1 session last night. Confidence was very low, wasn't connecting at all and really didn't feel in the zone. It took me a while to get back into the rhythm of things, and genuinely couldn't remember what it felt like to win a pot; but I know I've been there and done that before so I just waited it out. Finally connected with a board, and it was worth waiting for. Peeled

out of the small blind in a 5-way pot for £4 and flopped

. Donk led £13, got two callers. Turn came the

, bet again around £40, and then the big blind jams for £170 or so. Well I just wanted to be sick, but I called and got shown the bad news in the form of a jack and a seven. Confirmed with stato that this was a cooler, so I'll take that as pretty much gospel. Went back to being incredibly card dead, fell asleep at the table and decided that was a good time to call it a night.
Played some £1/2 tonight, there was an organised game that started at 8.30. For a while it was just five of us and as you'd expect, pretty lively conversation and plenty of action. Actually did some winning as well, really got myself back into the swing of things. Felt wonderful to finally be in control again. Probably peaked winning around £300, but then it happened: I flopped myself a monster and this is where things usually take a turn for the worse! I raise

from the button to £10 behind a limper. The blinds call and the limper calls.

. Bink. The big blind donks into me for £27, I make it £89 he calls. Turn pairs the

, he checks, I bet £146 and he tanks for a while before moving in for another £500. I just wanted to be sick again! Ended up folding, which stato says is bad! Don't very often fold full houses though so I don't see this being a part of my game that receives much attention.
Flopped another set a little later on, this time versus Alex. Can't remember exactly what happened, all I remember is looking up at the cashier and handing him significantly less chips than I started the day with! Put some Heaven Shall Burn on the stereo on the way home, replacing the relaxation tapes I normally listen to. Somehow managed to drive past Tesco without picking some cigarettes up. FIERCE POSITIVE MENTALITY.
