Wow. Thank you guys for the kind messages. Beth has seen them too and she says thanks as well. She pops up on this forum from time to time as well so you will all be able to offer her your condolences Wink

This sort of came out of the blue for most (probably all) of you, including some of my friends, as we really didn't want a big deal making of it. I'm happy to reveal my capability to love another human being unconditionally in front of family, but neither of us would have been very comfortable in front of loads of people etc. so we just kept it quiet. We didn't want  situation where we told some people but not others, 'cause that would have been even worse on the people we forgot/neglected to tell.

Had a lot of congratulations over text; this is my favourite one. Hopefully he won't mind me posting this!

Alex Goulder: Just wondering if you've got married that's all. Had my questions answered elsewhere dw.
Alex Goulder: Wait
Alex Goulder: Have I been ridiculously levelled
Alex Goulder: Are you married?

We chose not to exchange rings because we both really don't like rings lol. No need for tradition in the face of personal preference, so we exchanged watches the week before. Cheesy

In standard Sean Belton fashion I picked up a massive cold the Sunday before the event, was in bed all Monday and Tuesday. I just about managed to get through my special day, although about an hour into it all I wanted to do was go to bed a put an ice pack on my head and cram painkillers down my throat.

We haven't celebrated a "honeymoon" yet for a couple of reasons. First of all, Beth's not guaranteed citizenship in this country as a Canadian; we still have to sort some paperwork out (really is quite annoying, it's not enough to just be madly in love unless you have a fuckload of cash for our government.) That sort of segues into our second reason, available funds right now are not exactly at an all time high due to solicitors fees and visa processing, etc

So here's a quick run down of May 2013:

 - Had one of my biggest ever winning sessions in one of the juiciest 2/5 games of all time, where I was sat deeper than I've ever been sat before (like £3.5k or something)

 - Moved in with Beth. Lovely house with an amazing conservatory for home games. We had the internet hooked up within about 30 minutes of us opening the front door for the first time, but it was another four days until we installed a refrigerator. Priorities you know.

 - Got married and shit.

 - Had what I think is my biggest ever winning pot. Still yet to surpass my biggest ever losing pot by around £700, but we're focusing on the positive here! Not only that, but I won another massive one at the end of the night too, to give myself the biggest single session upswing of all time. Was stuck £1,300 but left the casino at least £1k better off. Here's a breakdown of the hands quickly. Nothing special tbh:

Opened the behind the £4 straddle to £15 and went heads up with Stephen Freeman. He donked pot into me on , I raised to £125 which I do with most of my value range and some decent equity bluffs, he calls. Basically think he has tptk/gk, T9, 76, or a worse flush draw. The lands on the turn and he donks £200 into me. I have almost exactly £800 left. Wasn't sure whether to mash it in now against his flushes that just got there. For a couple of reasons though I just flatted. He checked the river, I moved in, he called. £1880 this way. Bink.

The last hand of the night wasn't dissimilar. The guy utg was stuck a chunk so just opened to £20, it was called by everyone still left at the table to my button where I peeled back the . With my tail in the air, I made a loose call, the bb joined us to make it five. on the flop. The bb donks for £80 which he does with weak top pairs and co-ordinated second pairs etc. generally pretty face up stuff, and the stuck guy calls so I have a pretty easy raise here. I make it £215, leaving both effective stacks with around £400 back if they call. The bb calls, then the stuck guy tanks for ages and shoves. Wasn't expecting that tbh, but now I have the easiest all-in ever. The bb folds. I brick the turn. on the river and that's good enough for the lot. £1550 this way. Biiiiiiiiiiink.

It's been a good week. Thanks for reading. Smiley

It was tough to make any money yesterday with Matt and Nik winning literally every pot they played. Managed a pretty special one against Ian, but in all seriousness I could have gone home after the first orbit and made more money than I did staying for 7 hours! I would describe the rest of the session as "character building." Smiley We had a table full of heroes though, and it was a lot of fun watching the unsung heroes win the absolute lot, especially at the expense of Mitch Cheesy

I'm staying at home eating pancakes today. I don't want to do any thinking; my brain is in liquid form at the moment due to this stubborn cold that I can't seem to shift. I'm instead throwing money at smart people in return for some equity, a decent sweat and hopefully a BIIIIINK.

Matt Harris opened utg to £6, I isolate to £22 with , Ian G 4bets from the small blind to £61 playing a little less than £400. Matt folds and I call.

Flop is

Ian checks, I bet £87 expecting a lot of folds from hands that he checks on this flop. Ian waits a while before shoving for another £240.

I'm getting 5/2, occasionally I'll show up with the best hand, I figure I can hit an 8 obviously, I can ping a 9 and be good sometimes, ping an ace and be good sometimes and I have a backdoor flush draw.

So I call. Ian shows top set. Whoops. Turn was the and the river bricks.

Not my favourite hand of all time, but it was a fun one to win.

Peel a 4-bettor from the sb after you 3b a UTG open, bet-call 67Tr and expect to ever be good or a 9 to ever give you the best hand either? I think you have 7 outs most of the time, 4 some of the time, but <2% of the time you are ahead or the 9 is good if you hit it. It's not like i'd ever expect Ian to have KQs (never does this post) or J9s (doesn't cold 4bet)... i don't really know what you think he's rofling about with that much you're ever getting close to this being a call. Pretty good flop to check back too, there are a decent amount of turns that are good for your hand.... then again it's not like villain in the hand likes to c/r much I guess....... OH WAIT  Tongue

p.s. congrats on the engagementy thingy Smiley

Haha. John Black has truly set the standard for diaries on Blonde. I only ever get action on here when I massively butcher a hand.
