I liked reading your diary Sean, it was different.

Good luck in 2014.

Always entertaining.
If only your creatively comedic juices would flow as freely when you're winning as they used to when you were losing.

Was there not at least one major good thing in 2013?

Absolutely! Plenty to be positive about, in both poker and real life. Reading my post back, it has some negative undertones that were definitely unintentional. When I look back, I see 2013 as the year I made some very big decisions, and some very big changes - most of which I'm very happy with - but, there's no denying I've been stuck in second gear for a while is all I'm saying. Getting married a big thing surely? Or am I being whooshed. Smiley

Hopefully you will end 2013 on a high in the DTD DS.

Have a great 2014!

Hell, I hope so!

I'm glad to see you writing in your diary again. You're a great writer, and I hope one of your New Year's resolutions is to post more often!

Good luck in the deepstack tomorrow! xx

Yes, obviously this qualifies both the aforementioned big decision and big change!

There's a danger I used up all of my run-good yesterday!

I was driving home from a light grocery shop when I missed getting T-boned at a crossroads by no more than a yard and a half. This is the third time this year I've been ridiculously close to a massive car crash. This time the car was traveling more slowly than the previous times, but it was coming from the right, so I'd have felt the impact more (or less, depending on whether he/she hit the bullseye or not.) I went through the now familiar routine of slamming the brakes on, waiting for everything to start moving in slow motion, resigning myself to the worst possible outcome, and then ultimately fading tragedy. The funny thing is that I've just freerolled life here, I could be dead or seriously hurt, and the first thing I want to do is curse: "you've just been gifted a second opportunity, Sean. You feel more alive now than you ever have, is there anything you want to say or do in recognition of this?" Oh wow, you're right; yes, as a matter of fact. More than anything I really want to yell, "you prick" to somebody who is now 100 yards away. Nailed it.

Now were this not enough, I also held in the most ridiculous cooler of all time. I've been getting 2-outed all over the show recently, so imagine my horror when I had to fade 11 cards! Here's how it went down:

£1/2/4 at Dusk, we're in the £4 straddle with Two Diamonds

Russian makes it £12 from MP, two callers, blinds fold, I flick it in.

Flop (£51)

All check.

Turn (£51) Two Clubs

I bet £35, pre-flop raiser makes it £95, villain 2 tanks for ages and folds, before villain 3 raises to £200. Whatever I do looks massive here, but I'm getting called at least once so I move in. Villain 1 calls all-in for £350~ and villain 3 tanks before sighing and calling all-in for a total of £500~

Villain 1 tables the , and villain 3 turns over . The other player in the pot apparently folded a flopped straight!

River (£1400~) Two Clubs

Faded. Ridiculous hand. Comma day. Didn't die.

QQ < AT for loads. I played too well to go out in that fashion and not be frustrated by it. Nevermind it was still fun and i won a small amount for myself and a few others.

Played the Giant 50 yesterday: lost the first bullet with 77 on vs JJ which is pretty standard. Flopped no equity for a while, then just started cramming and eventually KQ < Bedi's AQ. Looked like it would have been a fun tournament but never got anything going.

Looking forward to the Nottingham GPS now. Smiley

Alright, the GPS is here. Had the week off poker so far, I tore my shoulders to pieces at the gym yesterday, and got a nice early night so I'm refreshed, well-rested and LOADED with endorphins. Time for my special breakfast of egg-white and oatmeal pancakes, with a handful of berries, DRENCHED in run-good.

Good luck to everyone else playing today.
