Daily Summary, as @ 11:15, Wednesday June 20th.

In the football England and France qualified from group D. We still have several ongoing top goalscorer bets as the tournament reaches the quarter-finals. Fred didn't place any bets on last night's games.

The West Indies were well beaten by England in the second ODI. This laid our series win bet to rest.

Our NBA bet looks a bit poorly. After a lightning start when the Thunder were 33-19 up after the first quarter Miami turned up the heat and won 104-98 to go 3-1 up in the series. The Thunder now need to win three in a row to win the series, a feat never before achieved according to our basketball correspondent.

My stewardship of Fred is going well. Child Services are about to be called in.

What's coming up?

It's a very quiet day today. No football!

There's some tennis at Eastbourne.

Royal Ascot continues.

Kent to beat Essex today in the evening 20/20 game

Kent are unbeaten so far only played 2 games mind. They are in good form in the 4 day and 40 over game, whereas Essex are having an average season at best

Evens is on offer at betfred, recommend a £40 bet

This looks good to me.
Kent appear to be a team with no star names doing well; Essex have a lot of more experienced players.
Kent beat Surrey who beat Essex -  it's a clear form line!

Any gainsayers?

Am going and have backed Essex but game looks evens each of two to me. Essex choked badly against Surrey but are capable of beating anyone at good old fortress Chemsford (that's a myth). Toss could be important, think batting first is mandatory IMO but Essex been know to make some strange decisions

Golf Travelers Championship starting tomorrow.

This will be a different game to the US Open last week. There the aim was survival, here it will be birdies and expect a winning score better than 18 under.

1st selection Hunter Mahan.

He won the world matchplay this year with a huge number of birdies in the week. He has finished in the top 5 here before. It is not ideal that he played 4 rounds last week but I hope that he was sufficiently far down the field, finishing 38th, that he is not too drained by the experience. This course will suit him far better.

£15 win @ 15-1 Stan James.

2nd selection. Ryan Moore.

Has finished in the top 5 here in 2 out of the last 3 years. Has had a couple of weeks off so will be fresh.

£15 win 25-1 in tons of places.

P.S. Shame 3G is not in this as this course would suit him - as long as the fog stayed away !

After last week's terrific work on the US Open, I'm inclined to go with both of these.

On.

This may be a bit thin but I think we're on the right side of it.

Lowest averages @ Travelers (min 5 starts): Ryan Moore 67.45; Bubba Watson 67.56; Vijay Singh 67.86; Hunter Mahan 68.09; Nick O'Hern 68.11.

In the 5 years Travelers has followed US Open, 4 of 5 champions had played previous week, all made cut, 3 had finished top-15.

Mr Tikay. You have expressed an interest in the total goals market for Euro 2012. So far there have been 60, with 7 games remaining. The current spread for goals is 75-76.

Thanks Mr Hector.

It's a little late now (I think), but my interest at the time was in a value-based, Euro12 long sweat really.

Morning Vince.

I'm sort of interested/curious as to how much money we have lost so far on Euro12?

I get the impression we have made a bit of a mess of it, to be honest. (My responsibility). All our bigger Euro12 bets seemed to have been "fails", our binks seem to have come from the quirky ones.

Also, in brief, what "outs" do we still have?

Sandy

Thanks for the stats - love them.
So the first statistic looks very good for the bet and the second doesn't (Mahan tied 38th last week and Moore didn't play).
The first statistic seems the one to which we should give more weight.
Is that fair?
