Luxembourg to draw was 17/1

They fear MCL damage for Ox. Don't think it looked good, which considering how dangerous he looked was a great shame

Sterling is suspended for Saturday

I don't know if has been posted already but in the Racing Post tomorrow there is a 96 page pullout for the World Cup.

Your Guide To World Cup Betting

The release of the Racing Post World Cup betting guide is always a landmark event in the build-up to the World Cup, eagerly anticipated by bookmakers, punters and fans of the game.

Packed with super stats, expert analysis and big-value betting advice, it's the definitive resource for anyone betting on Brazil 2014.

Heading the Post's top tipping team is Mark Langdon, whose two main outright fancies in 2010 were 4-1 champions Spain and 10-1 runners-up Holland.

Expert advice doesn't come better than that and we've also got views from a man who has been there and done it in 2002 World Cup finalist Didi Hamann and a star-studded stable of analysts including European experts Philippe Auclair, Gabriele Marcotti, Raphael Honigstein and Andy Brassell and tactics wizard Michael Cox.

The doyen of football tipsters, soccer boffin Kevin Pullein weighs in with his sage advice after completing an amazing 18th successive season of profitable tipping and there are inside verdicts from around the world including esteemed South American football expert Tim Vickery and specialists in the Asian, north American and Africa scenes.

With in-depth punter-friendly stats, comprehensive profiles of all 32 teams and all the World Cup odds and form, you can't afford to bet without it.

The Italy result surely is a talking point - I mean that must ne one of biggest shocks ever.  didn't look at prices....what were they?

Think Italy were 1/19

Not much more exciting than watching concrete set, but...

http://www.epsomweather.co.uk

2.4mm since midnight, so ground still good right now?

Weather site is tilting.  It has rain now, but none in the last hour according to the readings.   Juts before midnight, it had twice as much rain on "rain for today" as it did on rain in last 24 hours.  So they have had either 15mm which is a lot or 7 which doesn't seem nearly as bad.

Betfair currently 2.94/2.96 Australia.  If there has only been 7mm, that ilooks a good price.   Some drift that from 5/6 or evens a week or so ago.

You can get Western Hymn at 16/1 with BMU and quarter the place, both beat Betfair.   I won't be putting more on, as I have that already.

"Players who are going to the World Cup tend to manage their performance. We weren't aggressive enough and didn't take any risks at 1-0. We thought we could manage the game." said Prandelli.

They out Italianed themselves by the looks of it. But shocking against Luxembourg that they didn't kick on. They really mustn't care for these friendlies, they were woeful too in what i saw of the Ireland fixture.

Would love to be Mick Quinns bookie

Said this morning England should have been 1/10 tonight and were the "bet of the century"

Can be rest assured he has never seen Ecuador play

Thought Ecuador were indeed quite useful last night.  Fast and quick to counter.  England pretty dreadful, but it's put me off opposing Ecuador as strongly as I was going to.

We were so unorganised at the back, I think it made them look better than they were, and we should have buried the fixture on many occasions. I had backed france to beat Ecuador , but refrained from going in again, as France may have the group sewn up by then and may not be playing so "hard".

Didnt see match

What was that Sterling tackle all about? disgusting stuff

didn't think the tackle was that bad, defo just a yellow. reaction from valencia horrendous though, defo can be a red even in a friendly (although i think yellow-yellow suffices..)

Was the reaction of a player who had his leg broken in a similar tackle before.

Dont understand going over the ball in a friendly

+1 to this, was an awful tackle and to hear the ITV comms try to make it all so innocent was pathetic really. Going to be a long month of listening to Andy Townsend.

Daily Report

Profit on Month £237.67

Outstanding Bets £3115.20

Free Bets £25 Betfred

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=25

A profit of £1 yesterday

- The England/Ecuador BTTS came in for a profit of £21. Never looked like it wouldn't come in, with both teams much better going forward than they were defensively

and an interesting game in other respects too

- offsetting that profit, Nadal beat Ferrer in four sets in the French Open Quarters -£20

Nadal won 13 of last 14 games against Ferrer. He is now 64-1 at Roland Garros, plays Murray in the semis and Murray is a 5-1 underdog

in longer term positions

- Derbyshire were denied inevitable victory when 104-8 chasing 320 against Hampshire and the rain came

- The Royals lost to fall three games under .500 in the AL Central. The Orioles won and the Yankees lost in the East, with the Orioles now clear second behind the Blue Jays, who keep winning, in the AL East

- In Newark, William Hill report that the Tories  are 1/14 to win the by election. One client staked £13,750 on them yesterday; 13/2 UKIP; 50 Lab. LDs 10/11 to lose deposit, which looks way too big a price.

- " Danny Care has added to England's selection concerns ahead of the first Test against New Zealand on Saturday after jarring his shoulder in training.

England are already without over half of their first-choice team and Care is rated only 50-50 to play in Auckland.

The experienced Ben Youngs would step up, but elsewhere England will field a fourth-choice midfield at 10 and 12 in Freddie Burns and Kyle Eastmond. "

England: Mike Brown (Harlequins); Marland Yarde (Harlequins), Manu Tuilagi, (Leicester Tigers), Kyle Eastmond (Bath), Jonny May (Gloucester); Freddie Burns (Leicester Tigers), Danny Care (Harlequins); Joe Marler (Harlequins), Rob Webber (Bath), David Wilson (Bath), Joe Launchbury (London Wasps), Geoff Parling (Leicester Tigers), James Haskell (Wasps), Chris Robshaw (Harlequins, capt), Ben Morgan (Gloucester)

Replacements: Joe Gray (Harlequins), Matt Mullan (London Wasps), Henry Thomas (Sale Sharks), Dave Attwood (Bath), Tom Johnson (Exeter Chiefs), Ben Youngs (Leicester Tigers), Danny Cipriani (Sale Sharks), Chris Pennell (Worcester)

New Zealand: Israel Dagg; Ben Smith, Conrad Smith, Ma'a Nonu, Cory Jane, Aaron Cruden, Aaron Smith; Jerome Kaino, Richie McCaw (captain), Liam Messam, Sam Whitelock, Brodie Retallick, Owen Franks, Dane Coles, Tony Woodcock

Replacements: Keven Mealamu, Wyatt Crockett, Charlie Faumuina, Patrick Tuipulotu, Victor Vito, TJ Perenara, Beauden Barrett, Malakai Fekitoa

NZ -20, -21 is the way the handicap line is moving

Marcos Rojo. Starts LB for Argentina at the WC.

Booked x6/sent off x2 since Xmas in 14 games for Sporting Lisbon. 12/1 most Arg bookings

obviously its a competitive heat with Mascherano, Zabaleta, De Michelis et al, but it looked an interesting spot

perhaps horsey would have an idea.

is there anyone on here that understands how Andy Townsend is the no 1 colour man for ITV Commentary?

I'm sure I'm going to be in the minority here, but I don't find Townsend too bad.  Find his voice soothing, and he's okay at his analysis.

Just heard the nz starting fly half on talk sport. Said weather is fine and sunny n has been for days, expecting an open running game, admitted they'd barely heard of Freddie n the dreamers in midfield but that they'd been researching and watching videos all week of them. All blacks by 35 for me

I am fairly sure the correct answer was 7mm, Turftrax this morning has ground as Mostly Good with a few good to soft patches.  Likely good ground on Saturday and I completely missed the 2.94.  I wouldn't be in any rush to add to any positions hoping for soft ground right now, though there is a chance of heavy rain on Saturday.  Watching brief again.
