Very wet in the West Mids for the last 24 hours and both bank holiday bags meetings this morning are in Bham.  More monmore biases it appears after they sorted the track for the sky meeting for the cameras.

Both look mid/wide from the early results.  Jolly fest as well with 7 of the first 9 races being won by the fav.

Instant back to back t1 winners at monmore after the post.

I'm presuming fred (and a fair few others) can't get on at Stan James but if anyone wants an alternative sweat for the T20 this arvo Starc shouldn't be a 9/2 shot on their "best economy rate" market. Has best career domestic and international economy rates out of the 6 players used for the market, and his previous white ball form (IPL in T20 and WC in 50 over format) was stunning. went for a good bit under 7 runs an over in the IPL on pitches that offered him nothing, when bowling in powerplay and at the death.

Presumably priced up as joint 4th fav here as he's sprayed it around all summer, but is a different beast with the white ball in his hand compared to in red ball cricket.

I've been backing goals in Carlisle games this season - I know someone involved up there who has been saying get on - basically Carlisle have been playing 3 centre halves at times and have wing backs/full backs that can't defend. Their games are open affairs.

I put over 3.5 goals on the football betting thread which came in at 14/5 on Saturday.

Just put another bet up and I think it's worth a £10 investment.

Carlisle have hit form going forwards and are scoring goals as well as conceding. Their centre forward is scoring for fun at the moment.

They play Barnet on Saturday at home.

Long trip for Barnet but they have scored in all their away games this season.

Given carlisle's form, I think they will win an open game.

I like a Carlisle win with BTTS at 17/5.

I'd appreciate views but I'm on personally.

I like the thinking and the bet. A lower variance option would be backing Carlisle to win (11/8 with BMU) and over 2.5 goals (5/6 general) as separate bets. BTTS is a bit short.

Given the description of playing styles there does seem a squidge of value

This caught my eye. Looked into it and I guess you're talking about Jabo Ibehre who scored nine goals in seven appearances this season in the league. With a scoring record like that, it'll be interesting to see his goal minutes buying price on the spreads when it gets put up. Just a thought.

Our 5/1 (I think?) we have on Austin to Palace looks live again after going out to long odds and coming back in to 2/1 favourites. Probably solely off the back of Murray being close to Bournemouth. Not actually heard many news outlets talk of the Austin/Palace link.

Stan Collymore on twitter:

"1506 hours the window is open.

So leave it until the last hour and fuck up the paperwork.

The reality of the football industry. Shambolic"

Have to agree with him, it seems like a complete farce. As an outsider I can't help but laugh at the situation.

Thanks for this Vince, prompt as usual.

Hope you are well, we've not seen you on here in a while.

Not a great month for Fred in a variety of ways, but financially, I suppose our old friend variance was always going to catch up with us eventually.

Also, with Tighty being waylaid by other matters, we perhaps realised how important his Daily Reports are to Fred.

We have, of course, lost many Elders & good tipsters, & whilst we can cope without them, we would be better with them. The olive branch awaits any or all of them.

The football season, barely started, now goes into recess for the dreadfully dull (to me) "Internationals" period, so football will go quiet for a few weeks, but that's no bad thing.

More excitingly, perhaps, NFL starts this week (Friday), which Fred has always done well on. Fingers crossed that continues.

Thank you to everyone, past & present, who have contributed to Fred.
