is the fury next fight bet definitely a loser please? (month end admin)

No. First we wait for next week's UKAD hearing.

presumably post ban he will have a next fight and it might be klitschko, however unlikely?

If banned he should be fully stripped of his titles (and his rankings). In this scenario a Klitschko fight is so improbable we should settle it as a loser.

Stars are offering a free £20 bet if your selection in matches scores an eagle: https://www.betstars.uk/#/promotions/459385

How likely do you think eagles are on this course? Worth a few darts?

definition of eagle would be important ie does the putt have to be holed.  Its not impossible (but unlikely) that an "eagle" could be conceded with no player actually on the green.  Obv only bet on the fourballs in any case.

edit Also love the blatantly illegal contract term:

BetStars reserves the right to amend these rules at any time and in the event of any dispute BetStars decision is final.

Good point about the four balls. McIlroy got an eagle yesterday, but of course I hadn't backed him!

Arc & Abbeye

With so much sport this weekend, I only just realised it is Arc weekend.

Do we have any fancies for either?

We used to dominate the lAbbeye, but I've no idea if that is still the case.

Here's the Arc prices.....

And the lAbbeye....

The going is always key at Longchamp, the weather forecast suggests a severe thunderstorm this afternoon, but rain is unlikely tomorrow.

Racing at Chantilly this year due to redevelopment - FYI

Edit - Re the ground, there were showers overnight but lovely weather today apparently - Good ground

Any love for the old Ed Gascoigne special based on his algorithm suggesting that ties are more likely in foursomes ?

The foursomes yankee is available with 6/1 being the best price.

Whoops, thank you. I'm a little out of touch with racing these days.

Always used to think Arc Day was close to the greatest day's racing of the year, maybe only just behind King George Day at Ascot, or Royal Ascot generally.

Fantastic occasion - I was there to see Sindaar beat Montjeau a good few years ago, great memories.

It certainly used to be very special.

I had the good fortune to be there the year Mill Reef trotted up. I'll not mention the year, but Arsene Wenger had barely started his playing career, & it was to be another 25 years or so before he became Arsenal Manager.

Here you go.

I was at Epsom when Mill Reef won The Derby that same year, also played golf with Geoff Lewis a couple of times who was a member at Coombe Hill.

Never had a penny on obv.

Logically they should be as birdies are harder to come by, but they aren't.  Last ten years there have been much more ties in fourballs and the books offer lower odds on fourballs.

edit stats are 18/80 fourballs 9/80 foursomes

A small value bet for fred is Europe to win the foursomes 3-1.  The true odds are 5.74-1 Bald offer 6-1.

Slightly less glamorous up at Redcar but they do have the 2yo Trophy today and some books are paying 4 places 1/4 so plenty to get excited about 😀

Classy horses tend to do well in these races, and head of market all look pretty strong - Would take Rainbow Mist as pick of them but think at bigger price Appointed might be worth chancing @ 14/1 - Trainer has a good record in the race, and comes out very well at weights getting allowances. Slight worry it could get outpaced over 6  but can see it staying on for at least a place

See if anyone else got strong view but it's good race for EW bet with 4 places 1/4

The arc seems such a bad betting race.  You'd want to go each way, but the each way terms are pretty bad all round.  In addition the market just doesn't look competitive, with only Hills trying to get close to betfair.  I am sure it used to better, but guess they aren't trying anymore as it isn't on channel 4?  Maybe tomorrow will be better?
