So tilting last night! I'm winning £50 or something and we say "last shoe", I'm the dealer, so mathematically I'm clearly favourite to win a bit more.

Not when Mitch Johnson is betting £75 and getting 7,4 and I'm pulling a 6 every friggin hand! End up doing £600 in 6 hands. Your welcome boys.

I don't mind, they'll give it back on felt soon.

Went something like this;

Alex: 'Max bet raised now I'm the house. Anything up to £100'

(Mitch places bet)

Mitch: thanks.

(Mitch places bet)

Mitch: 'wow thanks'

(Mitch places bet)

Mitch: ' wow, what an lncredible hot streak'

Alex: 'End of shoe'

Mitch: 'I bid you all farewell'

Alex: 'knvdyjngfeyjncdesdbjooogsrhm gfgmouytrrddsddx'

More incredible degen scenes in this diary as a bunch of forum regulars who are normally smart with their money agree to back a giant whale in the £200 deepstack. Checks your PMs.

Tuesday night was a good night for poker, but a great day for Tapas. I know you'd expect someone of my corpulence to have tried everything at least once, but I really don't think I've ever eaten traditional Spanish food before. But I will go again. We went to some restaurant called La Tasca in Nottingham; very nice food, good atmosphere, friendly staff. Would recommend it. Does anyone know of any other Spanish restaurants I could go try? I'm a massive fish when it comes to anything but Sushi. There's definitely a paradox there.

Started the night at Dusk in a pretty decent 1/2 game. This kid called Adam who's been grinding there a lot lately was running like god again and when he doubled through Mitch early he was basically sat out for the rest of the night. So we were playing effectively 7 handed (and everyone else was playing effectively 6 handed 'cause zerofive is horrible nitty.) Started by losing £200 or so without showdown when I was put in a horrible river spot out of position with 99 on 8 5 4 T 6. Just check-folded like a puss. Can't be terrible. He later told me he had 77 so I made two good value bets and a good check-fold, but it does also confirm that my original read that he was a good player was way off. Sigh. Turned it all around with a few hands versus some guy who loved to limp-call pre, call any flop and fold a lot of turns and rivers. Then Giblin got stuck in when I'd 3balled his cutoff iso from the button. He stuck the 4ball in and I don't really remember what happened next 'cause I just saw two aces and a blood started rushing to my face. I know he folded to me and stacked off to Alex when he had aces though. I couldn't take any value hands to showdown unfortunately and ended up making a few small sums to finish the night winning £160.

Then we took the game to Gala, I ran incredibly at Chinese versus PeeJay and Alex while waiting for seats, averaging a win of about 12 points a hand. Insanity. By the time we all got sat down, the game had pretty much dried up. Still managed to take £100 out of the game in about 30 hands though, before Alex made quads and killed the game. Tongue

Wednesday was a nice poker-free day. Just went to the cinema to see Batman. It didn't blow me away, but as far as it goes it was a decent film.

Probably going to recreate Tuesday's schedule tonight an hopefully do some more winning by betting. Looks like there's some decent money in Alex's blackjack homegame as well. Hope he listens to me about the dangers of doing your nuts in table games when the poker isn't going well before he ends up doing the lot. I didn't have an awful lot to lose when I spunked my net wealth on roulette. Not saying it's going to happen, but if it does I will be forced to beat him in his posh face.

Peace.

After tonight's session I decided to go for a long drive. I normally exercise to clear my head, but sometimes I just don't have the energy and a quick road trip makes do. All throughout the journey I was thinking of how I was going to go about writing up the session. When I got home though I realised that, though tonight was incredibly swingy, nothing very interesting actually happened. Instead what I need to do is punish myself for the last hand I played. I butchered it. Truly. I might as well have saved myself the prolonged pain and just given villain my stack. Although given the way I played the hand I'm probably the villain. What I need is to do to myself what pleno does to John. So here it goes.

STOP BURNING MY MONEY. POKER IS EASY.

Time to start truly focusing and stop doing terrible things. Time to start rebuilding.

If everyone that reads this would take just a moment to let me know exactly how bad I am, however long or short you care to make it, I will be very appreciative.

Peace.

Haha. I'm not on tilt or horribly annoyed or anything, just really disappointed. This is the kind of thing that gives me a headache in the morning. When you walk away from the table and say to yourself, "what did I just do?"

Hh?

Highlight with your mouse to reveal spoilers.

Live £1/2/4 game, deep, 7 handed. We're dealt --> T c T d <--

Open the cutoff £15, laggy Scandinavian makes it £55 otb. I call.

Flop (£117)

I check, he bets £65, I call.

Turn (£247)

I check, he bets £145, I call.

River (£537)

I check, he bombs for £360~, I call.

Really unhappy that I changed my plan twice during the hand when plan A would have been optimal against particular villain and plan B would have been the least costly. Needed to quit about 3 hands prior to this. Wasn't tilted, just tired and nailed on to make a mistake. Not ideal when you're sat with close to a grand. Expensive lesson, and one I'm sure I'll be glad I put myself through at some point.

In non-butcher related news, winning day yesterday. Remembered how easy poker was and how easy it is to win. Been studying a couple of new books and exploring a couple of theories of my own. Don't know what a nit needs to learn about strategy, but it all helps when I try to convince myself I'm actually a professional!

Can't actually think of anyone who had a losing Sunday yesterday. Incredible scenes. Obviously PeeJay stands out as the obvious man of the match. Going out for dinner with the boys to celebrate tonight before I get my grind on in one dingy casino or another.

Definitely my turn to bink something. £200 deepstack one tiiiiiiime. Failing that, another winning sunday will suffice. Pleeeeeeeease.
